The Fretless Zither is an antique plucked strings instrument consisting of a sound box with strings going across the top and a soundhole in the middle.
To the left is generally a section of chord strings, which, when a set of these is strummed with the finger, will play a certain chord. To the right is a chromatic scale, generally two octaves, which consist of the melody half.

- 4 Octaves of melody (last octave and a half and top half octave derived from harmony samples and extension of the top samples).
- Effects (knocks, chromatic gliss).

It didn't seem to work on macOS Catalina but I solved it like this: click Cancel (not Move to Trash), open System Preferences, click on "Security & Privacy" and "Allow Anyway".

A very good tool for a very hard to find instrument; VST or hardware synth/workstation! It emulates the sound very well and realistic, a lot of fun to use and work with...Thx a lot

Occasionally the harmony version of the zither doesn't play a note on the 32bit version. Other than that I like the sound it produces.

Download the Audio Units (AU) version. Extract and place in Mac HD (or whatever your OS hard-drive is) -> Libraries -> Audio -> Plug-Ins -> Components. Give it a few minutes and restart your DAW (or re-scan for plugins if that is not automatic on starting the DAW software).

As a musician you sometimes stumble upon plugins that's just an one trick pony. This is such a plugin, but dang what good sound it produces! There was just some strange distortion I heard from it once. Dunno how it happened.

Hey Johan! It's hard to believe this plugin has been around for two years already. That distortion occasionally appears on Maize Sampler projects around that timeframe. It has been resolved in subsequent updates, but I haven't had a chance to go back and update the fretless zither for a variety of reasons. -Sam/VS
