In my opinion, probably the best on this site. I've been using a VST called " Icecream " I think everyone should look into that one. If they want an interesting chiptune synth.

I would really love a 64 bit version of this sooooo much as Ableton 9 and above only recognizes 64 bit plugins. It really was one of my favorite synths to use

If you want to work on 8bit / retro sounding stuff, it's probably better to move from DAWs to Trackers, since that's what this kind of stuff was originally made in. Try 32-bit OpenMPT.

I really like this synth, you can make good sounds with it. I'm not much of a critic or know much about synthesizers, but i think it's great!

Nice plug in. Get this with Basic 64/65 (like STVRSZ mentioned below), Dream 64, and Quantum 64 and you're ready to go old school 8 bit! Plus, this sucker has a fun GUI.

Unfortunately, like all SID plugins out there, this one does not arpeggiate the chords it gets from MIDI. ARP always means a fixed chord. Yeah, right. Like I won't use a minor chord in an otherwise major song... :-(

This sounds just like my old C64. I love it. Check out de la Mancha's Basic 64 as well. This is the stuff for that chip sound.

I remember having a very old music program on my C64 and it took an immense amount of code knowledge just to compose a music track. This plugin is awesome and configuring the sounds are easy.

Probably one of my favorite VST's , if not my favorite ever! very fully featured to get a really cool 8 bit sound... the only thing i kind of wish is that there was a 64 bit version, but other than that it's Awesome
