Esline is a vintage Arp Solina String Ensemble emulation.
ARP Solina is a multi-orchestral machine with violin, viola, trumpet, horn, cello and contrabass. The contrabass and cello selectors can be used to turn on a 16' or 8' monophonic bass, which is triggered by the lowest of the keys one presses. The bass runs from C0 to G1 and stops there.

Sounds great, is for free, no need to install. Perfect. With a little reverb it is useful enough for serious recording. 5 stars!!! BTW, around 1:00 min. it sounds like the quiet part of "A saucerful of secrets" by Pink Floyd live (Ummagumma, 1969).

Very nice but fails to load in Cakewalk? It works on Ardour but I don't really use that DAW.
Good news! I'd give this 5 STARS now. There seemed to be a conflict with another VST plugin that was preventing this from loading in Cakewalk. I deleted some unnecessary plugins and tried again and it now works just fine. I'm delighted because I really wanted that early Mike Oldfield string sound.
Hi, I use Cakewalk and I upgrade all my vsti 32 bits to 64bits with jbridge, there are several tutorials on how to do it and it is very easy. I have tried this one in particular and the truth is that it works very well. Too bad it only has 16 presets but they are very good. Greetings.-

Erst sehr überzeugend - dann aber nerven die knarzigen hohen Mitten und Höhen; ich bekam das Ding trotz Equalizing nicht weich. Viel Glück beim eigenen Versuch! (Very convincing at first sight - but to crunchy; was unable to get it real smooth by EQing. Good Luck for your own try!)

The violin section, when playing solo and after adjusting attack, echo and release, sounds fantastic, better than many professional sound banks in higher notes! Lower notes are not so good. But with this VST I managed to produce a strings sound that I was searching for a long time. Many many thanks for offering such an amazing sound quality for free!!

Ohio Plaayers used this on a couple of albums. Tony Banks of Genesis used this on Watcher of The Skies and on Gary Wright's Dream Weaver.
Watcher is from '72, before the keyboard was first made (74).

Actually, elektrostudio makes some killer VST synths-they look sort of goofy-but sound dynamic, these are a bunch of moon and replic rythm-they are great for pro recording both studio and live-you all should give em a try-they are free-but i dropped them a few bucks for donations

Fantastic VST. This is what I have waited for. This is by far the best Solina replica. I am also a happy owner of a classic 1974 model Eminent Solina String Ensemble and I can confirm that this sounds is very close to my unit. (Without any EQ maybe a little bit too bright and not so silky as my hardware, but still great). My only complaint is that it, unlike the original hardware, always retrigger. Wish there was a setting for turning retrigging on/ off like on his mono "model pro" (Prodigy).
