FerricTDS mkII simulates some dynamic effects as can be obtained with some high quality tape gear.
- Works great on VA synths to add some slight crunch and presence.
- Use it in the chain for electric guitar: Subtle compression (Density II), Fender style ampsim, FerricTDS (Dynamics high, Saturation low, SC high, rest to taste),optional FX with slightly different settings it works for crunch amps, too.

Hm, pretty subtle. Maybe my ears suck but to me this seems to mostly just be a compressor. CPU usage isn't crazy but is a bit high.

Awesome!
? On fl studio
not for me either, when I search for it on manage plugins i don't find it
64bit doesn't load in Reaper
Me neither. Reason 10 . All of the plugins you can get In that bundle don't show up in the plugins list.

The good stuff!

Been using this for years, on vocals of all things. I rareely har people using it on vox, but it really works great for getting your voice to cut through.. Glad they finally released it in 64 bit.

Ferric TDS is a classic for a reason. Does it sound like a tape? No. But, does it sound good? YES! It doesn't have that elasticity of a tape, but instead sounds quite punchy and if properly gain staged its saturation is very refined. Great on a drum bus and sometimes even on master bus.
Hello, The Ferric TDS plug in is not working for me at all. This is despite the fact that I have downloaded the most recent version of it that was made available by Variety of Sound, thus month on 6th Sept. Each time I try to pull it up in my FL Studio(which is fully updated), it says, “error.” I really need this plug in to work for me. Does anybody have any advice for me?
Yeah. Get rid of FL studio. Get reaper.
Why not have both.
Are you downloading the right bit rate?.. Maybe you need to check

Variety Of Sound has updated several of its plugins to Win64 including FerricTDS. I have used them for years in my homestudio and I really missed them.

Crashes the daw...
Which daw?

Excellence at it's best.

EXCELLENT !!! I use this plug in as part of my mastering suite. I put it last in the chain, and it is SUPERB at putting the finishing touches on a mix. It adds warmth, it enhances the width and it adds definition to each instrument in the mix. Easy to use, scroll through the presets and then tweak the one that fits best.I haven't used it on individual tracks yet, but I intend on experimenting with that.
The plug in tho is pretty good.

This is lovely. Gives real subtle saturation to tracks smooths out and rounds things nicely. One of the best.
Very useful when it comes to compressing and limiting. One of the best so far
ok, I've been using this since ages but today it just died!! my 64bit daw will no longer read it. I don't think there's a 64 bit version so if you know any vst that is free and as good as this, let me know. thanks =)
I recommend you to try "FerricTDS" with "jbridge" (a low cost vst converter) for use in a 64bit-DAW.
I concur with cyber_T - I invested 15 euros in jbridge just so I could keep on using Ferric. Of course I have used it for many other plugins, so very much worth the outlay.
There is a 64bit version. Try it

"FerricTDS" is absolutly great at the end of every ampsimulation-chain! I always use only the saturation function at "three quarters" for a much more realistic electric-guitar-in-the-box-sound.

I've been using this VST every chance I can get now that someone told me about it. Fantastic work. Very interested to see how the FerricTDS works on my next album. 5/5!
This thing gives my drum mixes (and hell, my everything else while we're at it) a sharp, warm, sticky punch that I've not been able to recreate using any other software. This VST has pulled life out of mixes that I thought were destined to be flat forever.
I had this on my master bus all the time. And then I switched offline rendering to full 192kHz to eliminate aliasing in the master. Ferric was the only plugin in my session that simply went mute and thus blocked the entire master bus and by extension, the entire mix. Ah crap. I really liked Ferric.

I love it! It does saturation very well. I use it with almost all of my songs.

I honestly use this in all my mixes. It does a really good job of gluing things together. Especially if used as a compressor on (at least) a few tracks and as a limiter on the master. If you want to get a really solidified sound use BootEQ on a few channels as well.
Great tape sim. You can bounce almost instrument to cut through a mix using this. And it can add some emotion to a necessary but pour instrument part. Works really well on Mellotron emulators! Thanks a lot VOS!
The best !!! you can not miss....

Absolutely amazing. I use it on literally everything - guitar, bass, drums, and the finished mix as well. Can't recommend it enough.

Works great!
I can say goodby to Soundgoodizer or You Wa Shoc plugin cause this o e is my official master weapon

Let me just say this => try this vst as a mastering tool, esp if your recording was done with one ok quality mic (live)... trust me, you won't use any other plug ever again :) amazing... tnx for making this perfect plug and tnx for not charging us at least $100 for it (and that's minimum if you ask me).
Agora tenho o que precisava pra terminar minhas musicas com uma qualidade melhor , aquilo que faltava para meu home Studio posso dizer que agora achei...

I'm impressed by what this free plugin can do in the mastering phase.

Although this does have some limiting and dynamic processing it's really a tape saturator. Before I used harm. excitement I used to put this on all my masters and it was beautiful. I still use it for my drum samples to give them a bit more character. Really, if you told me it was an expensive plugin I would've believed you. Just don't over saturate or things might get muddy.

very good punch sound!!
Thanks a lot! Very musically. For different instruments on single tracks or full mix - the sound is interesting and very good.
