Density mkIII was primarily designed to work in a typical stereo audio group mixing situation or for summing and to glue all things together in an unobtrusive way.
- Use the limiter mode to manage difficult audio dynamics – it does not operate in a brickwall design but offers a more strict handling of dynamics.
- Utilize the RANGE functions for each channel while working in M/S mode – this makes it a little easier to get M/S compression right.

Why is VoS still so underrated and for free? This plugins are better than most paid ones. Herbert's Gui's are super nice - they force you to use your ears and not your eyes. Whereas many big companys only pretend to have the "analog sound" ITB - VoS nails it (..just check out Tessla SE). Aliasing is at low as it gets in his plugins.. since years! While a lot of hyped big company devices alias as hell. I really appreciate his plugins - used them all when I started off making music years ago and now I rediscover them. 5 Stars!

Quite exceptional. Put this up against Waves SSL compressor. Density 3 gives depth on the master chain, establishing distinction, yet glueing things nicely. A more powerful mix. SSL sounds flat against this. Amazing really.

Variety of Sound released x64 versions of some of their legendary plugins in July 2021. Maybe Density mkIII is in that list.

At 1:47 you can find a description and some very helpful tipps of this plugin (e.g.: use Mode P5 with the slowest possible attacktime of 10,1ms for a rockmusic-mixbus-compression ). Done so it´s a great free(!) alternative to the famous S*L-4k-mixbus-compressor. BTW: There is also a MKIII-Version available...

An excellent multiband compressor. I use it all the time now. It has a rich feature set, great sound and a handy GUI. This thing should be $200. Drop it on your master bus during mix downs and try the presets, like fairytale vintage, LA vox, drums polished peaks or NY MS.
