Spitfish
System :
Win32
Format :
VST
Spitfish is a dead-easy to use de-esser.
Aimed mainly at mono or stereo vocal tracks. Just like classic analog de-essers, this unit dynamically filters out harsh, annoying s-like sounds that would otherwise 'spit' in your face.

It's not working, failed to register dll. I guess it is to do with using 32-bit on 64-bit. Most machines if not all are using 64-bit. This plugin is outdated, do not install or waste your time.

I've used this for years on speech (I narrate audiobooks). Once you've tweaked it for YOUR voice (tip: start with frequency, then sense, then depth), it's fire-and-forget. Other have commented that on a vocal in a mix, it *may* sound muddy, but to "solo speech," it's phenomenal. Yes, it's a 32-bit VST, but use jBridge to work with it in a 64-bit DAW. That's what I do, and it works flawlessly. Definitely one of my two "can't-live-without" plugins (the other is Unlimited).

si lo quieren usar para voces estan cometiendo un grave error, les transforma las voces y baja los bits que para alguien que oye bien, está destruyendo el sonido

tried to use this and gsnap on Audacity but it just shows that they're not compatible files and only dll's

I'm not an expert or anything but from my trying and research I think the problem is that spitfish is 32 bit and modern laptops are 64 bit thats why it's not compatiple.. Again I think

Well, even though mordern laptops are at 64 bit, there is a folder for 32 bits in the program file x86; also fl studio does support both 32 and 64 bits.

Yes, SPITFISH is indeed a 32-bit VST DLL; *BUT* you can use the wonderful jBridge to in effect put a 64-bit "wrapper" around it so it can be used in a 64-bit DAW. I do exactly this in Acoustica and it works flawlessly.

Yeah, same issue. It says it "cannot be registered" and it is because it for some reason is downloaded as a dll file now, not an NY or a compatible file.

I can't get this to load on the latest version of audacity with Windows 10. It says that it "failed to register" and "Cound not load the library" when I try to enable it. I have the dll in my plug-ins directory.

Half the time I use this plugin it messes up the audio and just make silence when applied. On the rare occasions it works I find it pretty good.

I have been using this for a few months now, and notice a fair difference. I do find that it can make a vocal track a little muddy depending on the recording, but it does what it's supposed to. For free, it's astounding, and I shouldn't complain. But I'm lazy, honestly speaking. ;) If it weren't for the common muddiness, I'd have no quarrels with this software. It's a must have, if you don't have a good de-esser already!

I am trying to use this in Cubase le5. I can click listen and adjust the sense and depth controls to isolate the sss I want to block...but don't see an "apply button" or anything to actually make it de-ess the track. When I click bypass (or unclick listen) I hear the raw track. What am I missing in how this works?
