Blue Cat's Free Amp is a free guitar amp simulation plug-in offering three amp models created with the acclaimed Blue Cat's Destructor amp simulation modeler.
Inspired by legendary guitar amplifiers from the real world, the included "classic clean", "classic drive" and "modern drive" amp models cover a wide range of guitar amp tones, from clean vintage sounds from the early days of electric guitar to modern high gain metal tones.
Operating the plug-in is extremely simple: load it in your favorite host application, choose a preset or an amp model, and play! Like with a real guitar amp, you can tweak the frequency response with the included EQ and adjust the amount of drive - but watch out, it goes to 11!

Very versatile and useful though finding the skins at first was a bit annoying

This amp need IRC cabs impulses?
There are built-in IRs, but you can load alternative IRs from extern sources.

I'm using this all the time now - better than a lot of paid-for amps while having low impact on resources.

Messy bottom end on clean sounds.
Nothing worse than a messy bottom end
Lol quite Frank. I prefer a non wipe bonus.

Wow! A very interesting amp. Can't say that it's the best but it sure does have it's own original sound. I consider this as the best Blue Cat plugin for now. The preset manager is superb and easy to use. Has a volume meter making it easy to spot where the spectrum is. Sounds vintage to me.

We have a winner here... congratulations!

Pretty low on CPU - I run 3 of it at the same time in recording mode and have not lags or delays. Sounds really cool and .. makes me remember of ozzy's guitar and guns n roses. The amp sim has few different sounds - few overdriven and few clean. Sadly it's impossible to turn the cabinet off.

Bucking awesome! Sound is clean, even smooth on high drive & treble settings. The bass is smooth. And from my few test runs--no clicking & fuzz crap except on excepted high treble, high mid, & high drive. Sound shaping capabilities easy & desirable. Noob-friendly. No presets. But I did, however, in the first test run created 4 almost instantly. I will be shouting out this amp's name in my future song releases. It's flexible, simple, & powerful.
If you go to the author's page, specifically this one, you can download presets for this amp: https://www.bluecataudio.com/Presets/Product_FreeAmp/
thanks for review of the amp, Shadow King :)
Спасибо!
Awesome! Will do, Guitar Lover. It has become my default guitar amp now. For reasons I'm not technically inclined to understand, it just processes a sound signal different. Even "slightly" bad sounds are "slightly" cleansed of their imperfection. Not saying it's a miracle worker, but it filters sound well.
