Brzoza is a 2 operator, 6 modulator FM synth. Each operator has 3 modulators each.
- 2 operators (each consists of the following):
- 4 waveforms (Sine, Saw, Triangle and Square).
- Width (Square waveform).
- Fixed or keyboard pitch.
- Octave range (32, 16, 8, 4, 2).
- Semitone (-12 to +12).
- Fine tune (-1 to +1 semitone, reset to 0 switch).
- 3 stage pitch envelope (Attack, Decay, Release and Amount).
- FM Depth (dependant on the incoming signal from the operator's relative
- ADSR volume envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release and Amount).
- Operator pan (reset to 0 switch). - 6 Modulators, 3 per operator (each consists of the following) :
- Modulator 1
Single Sine waveform.
Fixed or keyboard pitch.
Octave range (32, 16, 8, 4, 2).
Semitone (-12 to +12).
Fine tune (-1 to +1 semitone, reset to 0 switch).
3 stage pitch envelope (Attack, Decay, Release and Amount).
FM Depth (dependant on the incoming signal from modulator 2 and 3).
1 Modulation envelope (modulator 1 sends it's signal to operator 1 via it's modulation envelope, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release, Amount and loop).
- Modulator 2 (as Modulator 1 with these differences)
FM Depth (dependant on the modulator 3).
2 Modulation envelopes (modulator 2 sends it's signal to operator 1 via it's first modulation envelope. Modulator 2 also sends it's signal to modulator 1 via it's second modulation envelope.).
Modulator 3 (as Modulator 1 with these differences)
3 Modulation envelopes (modulator 3 sends it's first signal to operator 1 via it's first modulation envelope. Modulator 3 sends it's second signal to modulator 1 via it's second modulation envelope. Modulator 3 then sends it's third signal to modulator 2 via it's third modulation envelope). - State variable Filter (Low pass, High pass, Band pass, Band reject). Cut off ADSR envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, release, Amount and loop).
- Master Volume.
- Midi Control (Pitch bend wheel, Pitch bend range, Modulation wheel, Re-trigger, Mono mode. Left click controls for MIDI learn, unlearn and edit.
- External Modulation Matrix
- 6 Modulation slots (3 pages, with invert source signal and source to amount control).
- 5 Sources (Pitch wheel, Mod wheel, Velocity, Aftertouch, Key follow).
- 32 Destinations.

It rocks!!! Didn't expect it to sound so good tbh.

Man! with a litlle experimentation you can have a mega super crisp' (or beauty fritures) sounds, holy Sh*t de*m pretty machine!
THERE is no noise that cant be converted into music with the right effects ... TRY A NOISE WITH A DELAY, feel the magic, similar, there are no false notes, only notes that are not yet in their right environment

This 3/5 is a harsh rating for Saltine because I think generally Saltine produces great sounds. The problem is programming them takes forever, and there are never any helpful mouseovers etc to guide you. He really needs more ui ease of use. For this synth, honestly Oxe can produce dirtier sounding FM sounds because there are simply more operators and modulators to be able to chain. Plus since everything is on page one, it's quicker to setup midi learn to get crazy modulation on Oxe.

Only nasty noises, incromprehensive user-interface: Thumbs down!
The synth is meant to produce those types of sounds. I really wish people would stop giving bad scores on synths & effects just because they don't like the sounds those synths & effects. Obviously this synth isn't for you, so why not just move along instead of complaining?
All noise is music, and vice versa.
Love This!!!
Great synth, but I don't see any pitch LFOs... That is pretty bad, especially considering this is an FM Synth. Perhaps it's just that I can't find them, but if there really aren't any, you should consider making an updated version of the VST and add some.
The operators have pitch envelopes. Check out the demo video on YT.
It is an Fm Synth buddy, set the modulators for each operator with conjunction of their envelopes, this synth really works great!
I agree, a dedicated separate multi-waveform LFO is the one thing missing. There are looping switches for some of the FM envelopes, but those do not replace an LFO to do global vibrato or filter modulation. I read somewhere that Saltline was getting out of the VST business, which if true, is too bad because Brzoza is a fantastic instrument.

Incredible sound and presets.

This is actually a hybrid synth. It combines analogue synthesis with FM so you get some really nice old synth sounds with the added bonus of FM to add some interesting transients and harmonics. The modulation section is a bit confusing to start with but then you start to realise this is a really clever synth if you take the time to figure it out. The analogue sound alone is really nice so it's well worth a try. 4/5

I'm very impressed by this vst free.
