sforzando is a simple but powerful SFZ Player.
sforzando is a highly SFZ 2.0 compliant sample player. Advanced sample hobbyists now have a powerful tool to experiment and share instruments without relying on proprietary formats. sforzando only has one instrument slot; no fancy UI, effects or mixers. Every tweak needs to be done at the SFZ file level, no cheating!
sforzando is also a name given for a sudden change in music dynamics which, in musical notation, is represented by the “sfz” symbol.
sforzando relies on the same ARIA Engine that powers the ARIA Player and other products from Garritan and obviously Plogue chipsounds. This engine has been built from the “ground up” on the SFZ spec, and not as an afterthought.

I don't get it. Just makes horrible noises
You probably will have to gain a fuller knowledge of SFZ's and sforzando to make something pleasant.

5 stars for the fact that this can probably support 32 bits device.

I dont like using SFz with soundfonts as some dont load properly. Its better off buying FL Studio and just using their built in soundfont player.
the thing is FL 20s soundfont player only works in the 32bit n its a hassle to find a workaround
I don't get it. Not very fun to use. A lot of people rave about it. Probably fantastic for people who are SFZ enthusiasts. I use SF2 and SForZando annoyingly needs to convert those first. I just use the good old cakewalk SFZ+ it's way more easy to use even if it's old.

Oh man - what can you say about Sforzando that hasn't already been said? How's about - this opens up a whole new world for you when you find the good stuff to put into it. Cool adventure; here's where you start.

The window focus in Windows 10 is a pain. When I tried to open .sf2 file, it stuck a dialog about the conversion behind the main window and refused to bring it to the front (including with alt-tab, win-tab &c). Plays back OK, but selecting the patch the imported SF is also painful. You have to navigate a (literally) 5-layer menu to get to the patch labels.
Of course Sforzando also accepts soundfont files, right?
Yes. It converts soundfonts into SFZ-files. All samples are then stored into one large audio-file
