I was actually ready to give this free plugin 4 stars because some of the samples are out of pitch, or eventually drift off key. Then I thought that that was probably how HG Fortune created them in the first place - to be used alone and not alongside another sound where the tuning differences are noticeable. But because the sounds in STS-21 are so innovative and richly textured, they're mostly usable right out of the box. A little tweaking with a good tuner wouldn't hurt, either.
That's true. It's a good thing that you can tune each of the oscillators in half tones. It takes time when dialing in new presets but I just keep a tuner plugin on the same Mixer channel where I play STS-21 and tune it accordingly because for me it's worth it a hundred times!
I couldn't find something by another plugin developer that does the same or comes close to this (and the other STS versions). Maybe aside from the Art Pyrite by ArtVera but she took also part in doing the Artwork and some of the presets of the STS-21 so that's that.

This can create really lovely ear candy pads. It is very easy to get sweet sounds with the waveforms on offer! I use this quite regularly and actually prefer it over later versions for its purity and simplicity. Recommended!
