Steady Pro works as a smooth auto leveler, or see it as a expander/limiter with some special EQ enhancing.
Works on some mixes but does magic on vocals and instruments. Just put it on a your track and "steady" it.

I use this plugin to tame the bass. Especially the low E string and for hard cord strumming. The low cut button is not good for bass so I don't use that. Then I watch the meters and adjust the in/out levels for even tone and finally add the saturation. This does not color the sound but the you get great full and powerful sound. This plugin reacts quick enough, I mention this because most other limiters/compressor do not do that and you get digital distortion. For this purpose this plugin is fantastic. If Terry had made the low cut adjustable this would be the holy grail for me.

Remember that this isn't simply riding the fader but rather is also limiting and expanding the signal. In many ways this is one of those "use subtle or you're cheating" type tools like "sound goodizer". If you don't know why you shouldn't use it, you probably aren't that good at mixing anyway. Just a reminder (I'm searching for real fader riders).

It is very smooth indeed.
