The TS-808 is a software emulation of the Roland TR-808.
The TR-808 service notes provide full schematics for each voice. I used them to make SPICE simulations of the circuits. I also analysed the best samples I could find (The Tape808, by Goldbaby), and tweaked the sounds until the waveforms and spectral content were as close as possible to the real thing. Most of the voices have more parameters and a greater range than their hardware predecessor.

is there a way to get a 64 bit version? bc i loved it in tracktion t7 and now i moved on to waveform 11 but it doesnt load in waveform 11 bc its 32bit and waveform 11 only takes 64bit VSTs.
jBridge, pretty sure the dev is long gone and they never made it open source

Why the heck are the midi notes controlling the different drums completely out of order from how they are in the interface? Stupid. Sounds great though.

Absolutely fun to use creativity tool - inspiring! Excellent old-school thumping, clicking and clapping - with some dom-doumy toms thrown in to boot. To whomever made this at Tactile Sounds: thank you!!! And thanks VST4Free from hosting this bit of nostalgic kit! Recommended.
I loaded this into Reaper, now what? I only get sound when I use my midi keyboard. Is this a drum machine or is it just a drum kit?
It doesn't have an internal rhythm controller or anything, you've gotta play it with MIDI so I guess that's drum kit. Personally I'd find it weird not being able to use the host's MIDI to control it and instead had to use something else to do it, it'd really turn me off from trying to get some grooves down.

This is my go-to 808. Nothing stands up to it. The individual outputs for each sound is excellent and frankly necessary for all the processing you can expect to be doing for modern 808 sounds. Also, in case anyone doesn't know, you can set values that exceed the knobs by typing in the values.

Best one out there. It's so 808 that an 808 is less 808. Thank you for your service.

Tactile Sounds, i'm really impressed by your work. 11/10!
Man this is nice, what i've been looking for. Thank you!

This is the best 808 VST that I've used so far. The only complaint I have is when a part of the window is off screen and you move it back, there's some graphical glitches on the interface. But the sound is amazing!

Love this Drum Machine, played it alongside a well known paid for 808 and actually thought this was better. Thank you Tactile :)
This and Tromine are great, although the Tromine weighs 500 MB. Can't beat the 3.5 MB physically modeled. -==[He who controls the SPICE controls the universe!]==-
Tromine GT weighs in at 1.75MB not 500.
lol. Definitely not 500 mb. It's 4.2 mb at v2

Yes, sounds really impressive, comparing to other free vsti's i tried (haven't tried tromineGT mentioned above)

I had to admit it, I give this 5 out of also. Try to play Keith Sweat's Make It Last Forever using the TS 808. Sounds just like the machine Teddy Riley uses.

This shit is Dope but The MARVIN PAVILION Tromine GT ist better. The Bassdrum has more Power ,the Rimshot and The Cowbell sounds are more real 808

Also, includes a mono and a stereo version of the dll (for hosts that send a mono signal to only one channel). Sounds VERY 808

Well done. Very realistic sound. Maybe the best freeware synthdrum till now.
