Mr. Alias 2 uses non-bandlimited oscillators which can be transposed near to and beyond the Nyquist frequency, causing most of their spectra to be aliased back into audible non-harmonic frequencies.
The sound can then be further processed by a number of crude "effects." Though it is based on the same concept as the original, Mr. Alias 2 is completely rewritten for cross-platform compatibility, and has a number of significant improvements.

This plugin embraces it's digital domain. It will churn out an impressive number of waveforms, just to degrade them into barely-tonal digital noise - and I LOVE it! 4/5 for stability issues. This is not sponsored but if you really like Mr. Alias 2, the PRO version is available on the Insert Piz Here KVR developer page, which fixes the vast majority of stability issues present in Mr. Alias 2. It also has a much nicer GUI, and knobs are labeled :)

The wildest VSTi I have ever come across. One of few instruments where you can play a C major scale and it will return something that sounds near-random in terms of pitch and timbre. It's amazing for percussionists and glitch artists looking for something new to add to their compositions. For best results, hook up a midi drumkit to this thing. I can't give it 5/5 because I find - unlike every other VST I've tried - MrAlias2 will crash FL Studio 20 in 64bit and 32bit mode like crazy if I poke the parameters the wrong way. I mostly stick to presets, random settings, or make multiple saves as I make adjustments and only try to doodle up rhythmic with it later. Very powerful, very unstable, but the most fun I've ever had with a VSTi.

Very good for psychedelic tracks!

I tried it , but it doesn't work in MAC Leopard ... however the new version Pro 2.4 works great ...

Great for random psychedelic fx tones and fills :D
Excellent for industrial dub and illbient tracks, adds a lot of marauding but subtle presence.

As "crude" as this may be (and in ways it is!) I found it very useful for subtle background noises mainly for lofi IDM. Great for looping as well for that needed texture.
