TAL-Phaser is a carefully modelled stereo phaser effect.
The user can choose between two, four and six stages. It's possible to adjust the lowest and highest frequency of the filter.

This is NOT a subtle phaser effect, even at lower feedback settings. However that doesn't mean it's bad. Just better for something that's supposed to grab your ear rather than, say, as a glueing effect on a pad or organ. It doesn't sound much like your typical guitar pedal phaser, this is more "ringy" than "whooshy".
