Hi I am having trouble with this... great app but has sort of a crackling type sound when I use... any suggestions from anyone?

Here is an example of how tough this plug in is. The pedal board is really really cool. Got a lot of different tones throughout this tune. Only reason it gets 4 stars not 5 is it will occasionally cause a crash.

The amps and cabinets on this plugin is a very good for free plugin even better than hardcore on fl studio, don’t care much for the pedals though to me that was the bad part of it .

Great universal amp. Can be used well for simply amping your guitar, but also works for such curios as mandolin. Is also great as a vocal fx

Just downloaded this plug in and I think I'm in love... It may have some drawbacks that I have yet to discover, but coupled with DVS Electric Guitar by Martin Best (I'm a drummer, so I know little about getting a guitar tone) I was able to get a reasonably legit guitar sound with 5 minutes tweaking... Well worth the download. P.S ... I use Reaper, so I can't vouch for how it may work in other DAW's.
OK... The downside. It will occasionally cause Reaper to crash. But not often. I keep my auto save set to 4 minutes, so when I do experience a crash I don't lose much. Still my favorite amp plug-in.

Fantastic, loads of presets, loads of customizable patches, loads of options therein, yet not too complicated. Probably the best all round free guitar FX suite available.

Too bad the Fretted Synth site no longer exists. They had great products. This suite here is my favorite of Fretted Synth but there is another equally interesting version that is worth trying (there must be other sites that still available) and there is still an identical leaner version without the stompbox FX

This works great for doing Electric Wizard/King Crimson style vocal distortion.
How do you install this on FL, because everytime I put in in the effects folder in plugins, it says it cannot open it.

In FL Studio, the WAH pedal is always very distorted and does not work the way that it is intended to work. I use this over direct MIDI input, but the wah hasn't worked for any of it.

!!!FIXED CRASH ISSUE FOR FL STUDIO!!! Go to wrapping settings (that gear icon from the top left), go to processing and check the BRIDGED option for all the FA plugins. Enjoy!
Fix for free amp ... I was having crash issues using multi channels ... I copied directory with free amp 3 to /program files(x86)/Cakewalk/VstPlugin/name your directory ... copy all files representing the number of guitars ..example /program files(x86)/Cakewalk/VstPlugin/guitar1
/program files(x86)/Cakewalk/VstPlugin/guitar2 ... once I had a *.dll file for each guitar ... it ran fine ... no crash ...

Wonderful plugin. Bass, guitars (el and acc), keys - you name it. Works like charm on everything you toss it at, adding realism and analog feel.
This is a great pluggin, but I'm experiencing a major problem with it. I'm using OHM and FA3 works great when assign to a single track, but when assigned to two tracks it causes the program to crash. Any fixes? I'd love to keep using if possible.
Try increasing the cpu usage, probably accessable through the preferences or settings. There are different ways to have the program drain less energy from your computer, or however you describe it.

OH MY GOD! This thing is soooooo good! Im a total newb but even i am way past empressed by it. It can turn any guitar vst(even the most crappiest ones i have) into a REAL guitar sound. Donate if you can peepz, this is beyond worth it!

Hi guys, I have a problem! I started using freeamp3 with Reaper however when I'm playing the guitar I can hear my sound twice! I hear a clean guitar and then 1sec after I hear the distorted sound coming from FreeAmp3. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Hi, you might have a direct monitoring system on your soundcard, so turn this level down to mute the clean sound. Then setup the soundcard driver latency (buffer setting) to a low value to hear the plug-in sound in real-time.

trying to install FA3 dll in both audacity and VSTHost. The plugin crashes both on start up (tons of errors). Running Win7 64 bit. Any ideas?

Great sounding plug-in. But it crashes my DAW (cubase 5) everytime I close the program. Everything just freezes up including the mouse. Very frustrating. Also it adds pink noise to the mix down. Is there a solution?

Sweet FA2.5 so I'm back to check 3.0. I Painstakingly weeded out the Wanna be host progs and the plugins that work with the "Certain" host progs And this one is the best By FAR! I'm a 35 year guitar player and this has EVERYTHING you'll need plus some. I only wish I could Stop fighting the Win 7 driver Compatibility issues realtek ac97 And that Silly ASIO driver. Leave it to Microsoft to screw up a good thing with another must have OS upgrade and the ensueing 5 yrs of patches hotfixes identified vulnerabilities service packs and workarounds.to cover up another piece of garbage OS!Im going back to win 98!!
Great sound as soon as applied but doesnt like the mixdown proceedure, crashes cubase everytime. (sad face) any hints on fixing this?
Freeze the tracks with inserted FA3 first, then mixdown. Good luck!

I agree can this thing be free. Very nice good interface and the stompboxes are realistic.I only try it very fast for the purpose to check if it's working. And yes it works under Energy XT software.

Worked in Sonar 7. Locks up my CPU in Sonar 8.5 --so bad that I have to hold the power button on my tower to get it to shut down. Task manager does not even come up. Not sure why that is, but I miss this thing. Very cool plugin.
Sonar 8.5 locks up for me as well when I try to load a Sonar 7 or 6 song that has Free Amp 3 as a VST.

Great, really great, however, 2 instances of freeamp3 in the same project will crash your host (cubase, nuendo, reaper). It is good to warn it
hey this thing is good to have. I use it with reaper and it beats hauling around a big amp and a case of pedals. Also recording has become easier on the ears for my girlfriend and our neighbours.

Awesome! The presets are useful and the sound is great - I especially like the pedals and the fact that you can mess with mic placement. I'm using this in Samplitude 10 and it couldn't be easier. Can't believe it's free.

WOW! This is as real sounding as amplitube and as gritty and clever as Izotope Trash. Perhaps not the widest range of sounds ever, but more than enough for most people aswell as a lot of attention to detail in the effects and the control you have over the sound. Brilliant stuff, if anyone ever tells you nothing good in life is free, point this out!

This is a really good guitar fx plugin! I can't believe it's free! The stompboxes sound really realistic and even the emulated mic-placement is great!
