Blockfish is a versatile compressor with countless ways to shape the incoming audio.

Unlike many other digital compressors, Blockfish has 'soul'. It likes to bite, but it can be tamed easily once you've learned how to use its potential. You can remove the front plate and make further adjustments on the circuit board. Everything is possible: clean, transparent, loud, punchy, silky, subtle, fat. But still with a unique sonic character.

After over 10 years these four plugins by this maker stand up or exceed stuff in 2022

For extreme compression only. Doesn't consume CPU resources. Not so good on drums.

A bit crude but sounds decent and works well. Complex mode uses more cpu and sounds kinda naff. Nice, simple, effective, reliable VST. Not very powerful though. If you want to really squash a vocal you might need to use 2 or 3 of these simultaneously, all maxed out. A good basic, go to compressor.

My plugin- comeback of the year! Yesterday I´ve heard some older recordings, that I had made some years ago and I liked the fat but transparent compressed drumsound. Tried it again on a new recording and it works after all the time in a phantastic way. Highly recommanded for rockdrum- bus- compression. As good as brandnew commercial plugins which simulate vintage gear, believe me.

I love this. It really does have a character of its own like it says it does. I suspect its actually partially a multiband comp. because you can control the "air" and "low cut" frequencies separately from the main source. The only drawback is there are no numbers but hell it sort of forces you to go by feel as opposed to numbers. It's not THE punchiest or fattest thing you can get but it's pretty close and definitely a must have to just have just in case. Good for many applications.
