Guillotine is an audio slicer / gate effect.
It chops up segments of audio in sync with the BPM of the track. Up to 32 divisions can be made from one section, which can then be modulated, bitcrushed, distorted, or simply silenced.
In the Sever FX setting, the top right knob can be used in Relent mode as an expander, rather than as the default noise gate - this means that the chosen segments will be made quieter rather than totally silenced.
In the other FX settings, the top right knob will operate in Inflict mode, increasing the severity of the chosen treatment.

This one makes me sad. I loved working with this effect for as long as it worked--but it would occasionally blast level-pinning white noise. It was as if it was a paid plugin's trial version. I couldn't find a fix for it. I contacted the developer...and they couldn't have been nicer... but they had no solution for it. It's possible this is just something with my set up, but I eventually uninstalled it because I couldn't use it. I would definitely be interested in trying any updated versions of this plugin, as...again...when it worked, it worked well. (Thus, the 4 stars from me--if it works for you, I think you'll like it.)
Can't get Reaper to recognize it. Suggestions ?

An effect like a square wave LFO in a synth. I think you can use this to add LFO effects to any sound, not just specific synths.

Splendid gater/slicer/crusher. The optimization is great - it has minimal impact on CPU. "Distort" and "Crush" SFX-modules are very interesting - for example, I have created non-trivial IDM-beat, using Guillotine's "Distort"-module and my beats from Elka Drumstar-80. Incredible results on synth pads as well. Tested via FL Studio 20, Windows 10.
