The Prince is a transparent overdrive style pedal, cloned using neural networks.
The Prince should be used with an impulse response plugin (such as Pulse) to emulate playing the pedal through an amplifier. Use two instances of the Prince to emulate a highly sought after dual overdrive.
This plugin is intended as an example of how a pedal/amp builder (hobbyist or professional) can faithfully recreate their work in the digital world using neural networks.
Available formats (from installer):
- Windows 10/11, 64-bit (VST3, AAX).
- Mac 10.15 and up (AU, VST3, AAX).
- Linux (VST3, LV2) .
The plugin features three GuitarML neural network models conditioned on the Gain and Tone knobs, one each for Overdrive, Boost, and Distortion modes.

Sounds good but takes up way too much of my cpu (20-30% per instance)

Nice tones, if you like the POT/KOT sounds, in principle. For my taste these pedals sound too neutral to me, until today I do not really understand why these pedal became so overhyped for a while. I could name a lot of other pedals, which sound more convincing and offer more amp-character. Nevertheless a nice plugin, alone because it is not just another Tube Screamer simulation, from which meanwhile more than enough are existing. Unfortunately the extremely loud clicks, if using the switch, really are annoying. Not only for me, but also for my DAW. Cannot be so difficult to remove them within a digital circuit, I think. Without the clicks it could have been five stars.
