HAMMER is a hybrid modern and vintage compressor/limiter.
This plug-in is compatible with both Windows and Mac and combines ease of use with high-quality sound. Like the famous 1176, compression can be applied by turning up the INPUT. This makes it easy to use and produces a modern, fat sound for tracks and busses.
Other features include a limiter function with RATIO, smooth compression with KNEE, parallel compression with MIX, and a channel-to-channel link with CH-LINK.
Windows: VST3 and AAX(Native).
Mac: VST3, AU, AAX(Native).
System requirements:
Windows7 64bit or later.
MacOS 64bit 10.12 or later(Intel,Apple Silicon) .

Good sound and features with a poor GUI. Double click should allow direct parameter entry. It's inconvenient to use but the guts are good.

Just tried to install multiple times without any success. First attempt: I choosed my vst folder path, then the setup placed the vst file elsewhere, to my program files folder. Ok... uninstall. Second attempt: the setup placed the vst file again way different place than I choosed. Okay, searched and copied the vst3 file to my vst folder. Then my DAW doesnt showed up Hammer even after a full computer scan, so I just uninstalled this crap. So bad 1/5
Make sure you install the VST3 into the VST3 folder. Also, some DAW can have problems finding VST3 if they are installed on a different drive for some reason.. Such as Studio One. I would recommend keeping everything on the C drive

What an amazing compressor (I demo'd their limiter and it's even better)!

Good sounding freebie with a lot of functions that many free compressor plug-ins don't have. It should be noted that the attack and release are coupled to the ratio, so any changes in the attack and release parameters also changes the ratio. This is fine, as long as you know about, but it makes the compressor a bit less precise. Use your ears to dial it in, rather than looking at the ratio/attack/release values, and you should be fine. Should also be noted that it's very light on CPU! The only real drawback I can see with this plug-in is the separate input/output controls. I would much rather have a dedicated threshold control, or at least be able to easily link the input and output controls. Having them separate might make sense on hardware units - since you can use both of your hands to control them simultaneously - but it makes no sense at all having them separate in a plug-in. Btw; you can use this plug-in as a soft/hard clipper. Set both attack and release to 0ms, ratio to inf:1, lower the output a bit and use the input to drive the signal above the internal threshold. The knee control will now act as a blend control from hard clipping (at 0dB) to soft clipping.

Sounds great, do find it resembling a sort of 1176 input and output knob style of adjusting the threshold, but with a added features of modern VCA comps such as a variable knee, ratio, mix and other controls (attack & release time oh and the LED as well [instead of the usual analog meters] haha)
Be nice if the installer wasn't in Japanese
Да там понятно и без знания языков! Yes, it is clear there even without knowledge of languages!
You may need some patience, but you can use e.g. "Google Translate" - also for Japanese translations...
