It's got potential, it's got lots of great tools, nice effects and good built-in IRs plus the possibility to add your own; BUT it's not very stable. When I first used it a year ago or more, it muted at random, and now I'm not sure it keeps doing that but today it crashed my DAW twice - I use REAPER, which isn't very compatible with some plugins sometimes, but it does work with most other guitar amps and FX suites. It's weird because I have used chowDSP plugins before and they're usually good, particularly the tape modeler. I really hope the stability improves in this one.
Unfortunately it doesn't work on Cakewalk. Everytime I try to open the plugin it crash and I have to close the daw.

Men, this plugin just replaced guitar gadgets as my free go-to pedals collection. 5 stars. Easy.

Works perfect for me! Amazing VST!

Eats CPU and acts very sluggish
That doesn't warrant a 1-star rating, dude. Check your system. It works perfectly on PC and FL Studio 20.0.4.
The 64bit dll doesn't load for me
Same problem as SK. When I loaded it into Reaper DAW the system slowed dramatically.
Turn ON the 'Use OpenGL' option
Thanks for the reply but I Just checked and the OpenGL option is already turned on
The moment I load it into the DAW, the system becomes extremely slow and unresponsive, the only solution is to close the DAW. (Win 10, Ableton Live 10, 64-bit VST). I had the other Chowdhury VSTs as well, but I didn't have this kind of problem with them.
I have in Reaper 6.45 a CPU load of 0,8% and absolutely no slowing at all with 4-6 modules, stereo mode and 4x oversampling. (win10, i7 hexcore). But I've made the experience with another plugin, that sometimes an active virus scanner can be blocking or slowing performance of a plugin or even makes a plugin unusable, if it mistakenly identifies a plugin as threat. In my case, if I want to use this certain plugin, I first have to deactivate the anti-virus software, then everything works fine, if not, I cannot even load the plugin into my DAW. Maybe something similar happens here. Just an idea...

Unusual, but in my opinion very useful concept. A lot of good sounding and working modules to individually shape your own sound, you can build and tweak your own amp simulation, your own overdrive, distortion pedal, but also a lot of other good sounding effects, effect combinations and sound shaping tools are included. This plugin can be used as very indiviually adjustable amp simulation, as a virtual pedalboard or both, or even more. The spring reverb, only as an example, sounds really good, if properly adjusted, the IR module offers some good working IR presets, but, what I like even more, it also allows loading of external .wav IR's, which in my opinion is a very useful feature. For a freeware plugin it is an excellent, flexible tool, sound quality is very good, also if compared with some commercial solutions, although this kind of flexible modular system (mainly) for guitar players at the moment anyway seems to be very unique in the market. The advantage of this system is, that you have a lot of tweaking options, the disadvantage is exactly the same, you have to create your own tones and module combinations mostly by yourself first. My personal additional wishes, maybe for the future, would be an additional Phaser and Univibe/Leslie/Rotary module and a midi-controllable Wah module in the fx section. Even more interesting could be - at least for me - a typical, complete Tweed and Plexi tube preamp section as modules, maybe also a modern high-gain preamp, but also eg. a typical Class A Single Ended and a complete Push-Pull power amp with authentic long tail pair phase inverter module, in the best case with different tube options. (Class A: EL84, 6V6, Push-Pull: EL34, 6L6, 5881, KT88,... and a variable, adjustable negative feedback control.) Then this plugin could really become an "all you ever need" solution for guitarists. But also as it is, a very nice plugin. Even more, as it is freeware! Thank you very much!

Wish it was just a dll file :( i am afraid of programs .. I have 50 or so VSTs and that would clog my computer . The youtube vids of the tone are AMAZING
