Can you all just appreciate the fact that the plug-in is great? You citizens as though you could produce something better

ESTÁ INCREIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bit thin cold, cheap, naff and out of tune. Not a horrible sound overall though. Might be ok for artificial, atmospheric sounding pads and things. Not very convincing as an actual string section though.

It's a good plugin, but after exported to wav or ogg format there is no sound of this plugin.

Nothing extraordinaire. No issues when working in LMMS under Windows. Better turn off all the built-in effects as advised lower in this comments' section.

good ;-)
I run into several problems using the DSK strings plugin in LMMS: - When exporting a song with the violin from DSK strings loaded in a VeSTige instrument, the pitch of the instrument is completely off. The pitch seems to be at least two octaves too high and sounds totally false. It happens both with WAV and OGG export. When playing the song within LMMS it sounds fine and LMMS shows a CPU usage between 10% and 25% when playing the instrument.
- LMMS sometimes crashes when the plugin is saved as a preset and then clicking the preset in the presets window which should play a single note.
- The volume of the plugin instrument is sometimes about two times lower, a workaround for me is to close the project and re-open it.
This plugin crashes Ableton Live 9!

It is a fantastic VST, yet the crashes are extremely frustrating. I hope this will be fixed soon. It happens with the DSK Brass VST as well.

This is a good orchestra vst. But it always crashes FL Studio whenever I want to export. And when it does export, it has no sound! Can you please fix this?
I am happy to find this vst. It's really awesome especially on the full strings. But when the entire notes played, it's crashed all the times and the size is too big for a 4 bars notes. It takes 500 MB.
This is a great vst pluging. I finished lot of church music with it. Thanks for DSK...

These string instruments are very synthetic sounding and basically sound like an organ. I would not recommend this plug-in unless you are looking for something that does not sound like string instruments.

Fantastic out of all the free strings plugins I've tried, this is really great. Although as another anonymous poster mentioned, it seems to cause a lot of clipping regardless of which software it's hosted in. Great selection of sounds, and I feel any post effects are best done through your mixer as opposed to using the built in delay and flanger as they seem to muddy things up more than compliment the sound. Overall it's great but as suggested you may be better to export clips into your DAW as opposed to running it straight through, because you will most likely experience clipping regardless of how well tuned your audio settings are and how powerful of a system you're working with. Great job to DSK, I doubt you'll find a better free strings plugin out there.
Most of the DSK causes clipping in most DAW, despite how powerful your cpu is, I use various limiters and compressors to over come this, I have mixed result from in track midi recording, so I use a stand alone VST host to record the tracks, then export into my DAW, in the DAW, I have no more clipping issues, I can then quantize and match the 'wav' file to the rest of the tracks BPM or tempo and key. This way, makes your music sound so much more Live, human feel, not all technical and automated sounding.
Love this string plug in, I seem to have no problem with it in lmms, great sound.

At first it sounded pretty good, but then i lost an entire project due to its constant & relentless crashing in Ableton Live (even when i try to remove the VST from the project). DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE USING ABLETON
There are some fairly good sounds in here that I really like, although I had to adjust some of the ADSR settings so that there wasn't so much flanger in the mix. I also have to hold down the sustain pedal while I am playing, or else I get an ugly clicking cut-off sound. Nice stuff, though! Get my music at www.ezrafike.bandcamp.com

Very good, lots of possibilities, nice sound, making a beat using mostly this.

When using the presets in my scores, I found that there are better VSTs for strings. Fortunatly I gave DSK Strings a chance and cut the FX of the presets to hear the raw sounds. I was positively surprised. Best free Strings ever, but FX / presets make it sound crappy. Seems to be the weak point of DSK: Good presets ;) But in the end, the raw sounds are brilliant. Well done guys!
Very nice, I like the sound it has; However, the volume on it is pretty low and I have to crank up my channel mixer just to get a decent volume but other then that I love the quality sound it has, good job

Additional comment: When you consider how much money software-instrument suites cost, I think DSK Instruments are doing a brilliant job. The only downsides, for me, are that they are pretty unstable (in Ableton Live), frequently causing it to crash - and they don't support multiple-instances. But I use them too much to stop using them, or untill I get around to buying a couple of VSTi-suites.

Great! This is the best string plugin ever. 5 stars!

Short of actually buying an expensive, orchestral D.A.W.,DSK are providing the best there is. Used in conjunction with DSK Virtuoso, this is unbeatable. Won't support multiple instances, though(using it more than once in a live set). I've tried it,and Ableton - and Windows - crashed and had to be rebooted.Still deserves 5/5 for being such a polished product, though.

Does not work with Ableton Live unfortunately :(

Realy easy to use, amazing sound, and cool. I've got only one complain which prevents the VST from being perfect: the CPU consume. It realy takes a lot of CPU, which sucks...

Another awesome DSK vst.... Strongly recommend DSK keyz, it's the only piano vst I use now :)
