OS-251 is a pure digital lo-fi synthesizer.
The oscillator has alias noise (specific to digital signal processing) famous on classic samplers like E-mu SP-12 which adds lo-fi feeling to the sound. You can enjoy the powerful sound at modern sampling rates with your DAW.
OS-251 is a "JUNO" style digital subtractive synthesizer with a simple yet powerful DSP algorithm. Unlike other plugins that use analogue simulation, OS-251 uses digital algorithms to give warm, lo-fi sounds.
The design of the oscillators and the selection of parameters were influenced by the JUNO-106, making it easier to express a thicker, chunkier sound.

A painfully basic synth. It's probably great for chiptune, but.. It's just one Oscillator, one Envelope, one LFO. It feels like I have to fight with it to get interesting sounds. You really need to lower your expectations and treat this like a SH101 type synth. You're literally just changing the volume of a few waveforms (can't detune them), shaping the filter, envelope, applying LFO to the filter, pitch or pulse width, and that's it. A delay/echo is a must with this.. really need to use external effects. The chorus sucks. It's supposed to be inspired by the Juno, but I'm not getting the same vibe, it's less Juno, more Commodore SID/NES.

There's no presets, but you just have to copy the settings in the video to get them and even create some new ones by the same way :)
