ColourEQ is an IIR equalizer.
With its custom-made 4th order IIR filter, ColourEQ sounds unlike any other EQ you have ever come across. It comes with five bands of super parametric peaking filters, which means that there is one more parameter in addition to the traditional gain/width/frequency set that can influence the curve shape. These shapes cannot be reproduced by ordinary IIR equalizers.

Very comfortable with freely adjustable frequencies, but sounds a bit boxy, rather not suitable for the master mix.

I've been using this one for years. One of the most useful EQs out there. If I compare the sound with other eqs it's maybe not the nicest sounding EQ you can find but it's ok, it does the job. The visualisation is very useful and the various controls and several bands mean it's a good contender for "the only eq you'll need" type of thing. Not earth shatteringly great but a definite classic nonetheless.

Nice shapes for drums
