Saxophia uses 4 independent waveforms to generate 4 saxophones emulation.
Each saxophone has its own size and color: alto, baritone, soprano and tenor.
Saxophia has full synthesis section, 2 different midi velocity options, a user friendly global hipass-lopass filter, a full section of built in effects (saturation, chorus, phaser, tremolo, reverb and delay), built-in draw-bars system and full midi learn system.

The Soprano and Tenor give you a lot to work with if you are competent with selecting and tuning effects, but the Alto and Baritone are absolutely unusable. When you shift notes, there is an overwhelming synthetic lag in the VSTI, and nothing will hide it. I add just a bit of guitar distortion to get flare and turbulence to amazing success with these free VSTI-s good enough to fool musicians, but they are all very trimmed down or have massive voids in ability, so I imagine a paid VSTI will be amazing.
Use the portal knob

Very good reverb engine and low CPU usage. If you lack this 80s 'over the edge' loud sound, then here is a trick for FL Studio. Load the plugin, increase reverb and then make its copy via 'Clone'. Afterwards tune the copied version in F5 (not C5 as usually). And then unite both versions via FL Studio LAYER. The result will be loud, doubled, 'over the edge'-sounding sax from 80's smooth jazz/detectives intros! It is a simple double track trick, where higher sax is being supportd by more low sounding counterpart.
This vst expires after 30 days? So I'm not able to use it anymore for personal use?

Thank you for the free VST. For my arrangements, this is perfect (once I figured out the Porta. knob attenuates strange pitch bending behaviors). I can't believe people just make something like this for free.

Fanan virtual instruments are conundrum. The least offensive of them was their brass VI Brassiere or whatever it was called. Not near realistic brass, it was like synth that only made synth brass sound. Then they set free their clarinet but forgot to unlock the archive it shipped in. The Nord organ emulation Scandiclavia was an unstable mess on Reaper. This is another Brassiere. You're not sure what context it was meant for because it is not realistic enough for real instrument and too simple for substrative synth. Maybe that explains why it is bizarrely titled Saxophia in the apparent effort everyone mispronounces it Saxophobia and to offend real saxophonists. Because I cannot find any use for this anywhere I cannot give more than 1 star. Still GUI is practical and applaud Fanan for attempting physical model saxophone because saxophone is near impossible to realistically translate to VI form. Attempts at either saxophones or physical modelling are near inexistent even though Sample Modeling, Modo Bass, Spicy Guitar, Reaktor Prism and Dannenberg Brass prove physical modelling surpass sampling as primary component of realistic virtual instruments. Fanan sound goals need major rethinking. Either focus effort on full substractive synth or realistic physical model. Fanan already has nailed down waveguide, but real instrument is more than waveguide. For full physical model you need to incorporate the many components of an instrument like bores, the way the player interacts with it, the air travels and the way the instrument material physically resonates. That last can already make vast difference and all you need is to record impulse response of real saxophone or another similar sized brass instrument. Good luck Fanan!
This virtual perfectly fits some people's need. For me It lack all the bullshit bells and whistles and concentrate in producing the exact sound I need quickly and with out any hassle! and it sounds realistic in the MIX too. Sometimes we don't need the whole cow for a glass of milk and this free virtual does exactly what's expected. I love thisss
That name... oh man, pissing my pants here, it's so terrible. Then again, so is this whole thing. Just hurts your ears. If you want synth sax sound get one of those Roland Romplers from 90s, at least there is character. Next up: Guitarphia. I'll have one of Kazoophia! On second thought... I won't.
PS to Audrey: When there is better stuff why say yes to sub-par for your music? That's just disrespecting your music.
It does not even appear in VSThost, so i could not even try it
Works fine in VSThost for me (64bit).
Copy the dll file in your vst folder
