Cymbal Killer is a 2-band gate especially designed for drums.
With it’s two bands you can have different envelope settings for the sustain (low frequencies) and attack (high frequencies) of the drum.
It allows the sustain to breathe while keeping the attack short to kill the cymbal bleed entering through the close mics on a drumset (hence the name).
- It has a side-chain input and high-pass, low-pass and parametric filters (shared by the two bands) for focusing the sound of the drum on the detector circuit.
- Lookahead for allowing the full transient through (introduces latency).
- Two visualizers (one for each band) for watching the envelope.
- Mix slider for allowing a mix between the original clean signal and the gated signal.

Masterpiece! It actually does not kill HH/OH (hats), but decrease them in very precise manner. So, if your 808 hats, for an instance, sound too loud, you can decrease their volume drastically or softly. Precious tool for drum-machines with too loud HH/OH parts or for correcting beats with loud hi-hats and etc.
Can't figure out how to install it, glad I didn't donate first!

You need to be a drummer (and no how to mix) to understand this. POWERFUL plug in. THANKS a whole bunch guys. HIGHLY useful on kick & snare.
I can't see how can it work in real time with a whole set of mikes on a drum.
Wouldn't be more effective trying to insulate the single mikes?

Really good stuff
Can’t seem to get it to work, maybe only made for newer computers?
This is a a 64bit VST3. Maybe your DAW is 32bit application, so this plugin will not run...
