Probably one of the best free preamp plugin out there! I would also like to see AO doing some EL emulations such as the distressor or the fatso (probably want to see the fatso have an free emulation somewhere in the future!)

People may have their opinions about AO but in all regard, this plugin is just SO good. If you push it to full gain the different modes will sound equal.. but if you put 40 to 75% gain every mode has its unique caracter and it just sounds really good! The EQ switches are a plus, even tho i never use them

It's a bit fussy having that many different preamps to choose from. I don't like having too many options, especially when it's a choice between indistinguishably different tone colours. The tone adds a certain something. Subtle grit. Might be useful. But the CPU usage is very high so I'm inclined not to use it.

One of the best preamp of all time, especially for the "price". Most of the time I use the tape saturation, because it adds the most harmonics to the signal (at least according to my measurements). AO plugins killing my processor and I wish the LPF wouldn't be that "low", but besides these things it's a fantastic unit.
