SSQ is a SSL console EQ emulation.
Put legendary console EQ in your rack with the SSQ. Since the early ’80s, producers have loved the E Type consoles for their huge sound and distinctive character. A big part of the sound came from the E Type channel strip, and you get the same circuits in the module.

- Famous line-amp re-designed and added to SSQ.
- Brown Knob is the sound of early-’80s E Type consoles, with 15dB cut/boost and musical response.
- The perfect way for project studios to get the sound of a world-famous console.
- Versatile 4 band channel EQ with fully parametric LMF and HMF and HPF/LPF.
- Oversampling for better processing.

If I didn't already have the waves ssl plug I would be all about this! If you don't have the waves plug you want this as like the 'unlimited trial' version basically. Considering it's free 5, stars for that.
Input knob seems not work at all.

It's pretty decent if you're just getting started mixing, but personal it's just a bit noisy to me, not to say you can't get a professional sound out of this , I'm probably just too used to my ssl channel strip by waves, but again if you're just getting started, you probably won't notice a thing between the two, so I think its pretty good for beginners

Good emulation but a bit noisy for me.

Looks decent but for me the CPU usage is just a bit high for an EQ plugin. I used the Waves SSL EQ for years. That had a /3 button in the low mid section which allowed you to use the low mid control to target frequencies below 200hz (down to 67hz I suppose). That was a useful addition and would be good here too.

My go to for mixing tracks in Ableton

I have no idea about the hardware unit, but this thing is just fantastic. I can't really say anything else, just try it yourself. Same problem as always; CPU USAGE. Sound-wise perfect.

This emulation is better than the emulated!
I don't know how to load this plugin into my DAW Mixcraft 8. Thank You!
Well for me I use Windows. for DLL Files... go to your download folder. Copy DLL files you wish to import. Once copied open your open your Local C Disk. Then open program files (x86) then you should see mixcraft 8 Folder. Open Mixcraft 8 Folder. now open vst folder. Now you should see Pro studio. paste the desired VST in Pro Studio folder. restart Mixcraft 8. I hope this helps Enjoy!

Tested this marvel against Waves SSL E Channel strip, though the A. O. eq is more likely based on the 500/611 series. Having no gate compression and routing option. Used same eq frequencies. This is possibly the best eq out of the A.O. line and what I have ever used. This eq immediately sounds punchier cleaner crisp but in an analogue way, that's not artificial but natural. Absolutely stunning. These plug in are the best I have used. Thank you for making them and releasing them free!
