Slam Pup is a multistage tube drive compressor.
It is emulated from a "thrusty" American compressor and a "gritty" multistage tube drive from a British saturator. The result is a 2 knob beast, that can get you sounding "phat" in seconds. No guesswork or crazy science needed. Just tweak away and find your own sweet spot.
- BARK: multistage tube drive.
- BITE: threshold for compressor.

It sounds wonderful...! I don't know how the developers did it, but I cannot make the same type of compression with other plugins. It's a shame that the project seems discontinued now.

Compress may work well enough, but the drive/distortion sounds awful
I tried to install it on my 64 bit Windows machine and the installer doesn't do anything. The folder has just an uninstall file and that's it. No .dll, no nothing. It would be nice if we had an option to just unpack it, like any other VST. What's the point of the installer if it doesn't install the thing I want?
Its VST3 Plugin. It will automatically get installed at C:Program Files Common Files VST3
Or, you could, like, give the user the option to install where THEY want...
So I'm guessing by the description that is based loosely around a Thermionic Culture Culture Vulture and an API 2500 if they had both been transplanted into a new housing along with being integrated so that the best of each is all at the fingers tips. If this little two-knob job can yield the sort of sounds that could be expected using them together even slightly then it should be rather useful.
API's 2500 has long been one of my few "go to" outboard compressors, Bloody expensive but equally as good. I've got some experience with Thermionic Culture's stuff which is really nice, Would very much like to add some pieces to my racks but the outlay is eye-watering! Not expecting it to sound or be anywhere close to delivering results the real combination would, Still I look forwards to trying it out. Cheers!

Funny idea, but more important, works and sounds good!
