VK-1 Viking Synthesizer is an authentic emulation of the classic Moog Voyager monophonic analog synthesizer.
It has three continuously variable wave oscillators, two ladder filters with a Dual Lowpass or Highpass/Lowpass configuration, a multi-wave LFO, and two modulation busses. VK-1 uses state of the art DSP technology to accurately reproduce the sound of the hardware.
Presets:
VK-1 comes with 228 presets in the categories Bass, Bright Lead, Electro Bass, FX, Percussive Lead, Soft Lead, and Synthwave. The 50 Electro Bass and 50 Synthwave presets were created by experienced sound designer eXode. The synth excels at thick bass and rich lead sounds.
Oscillators:
At the heart of VK-1 are three adjustable wave oscillators. The continuously variable waveform knob gives the oscillators a unique sound that can’t be achieved with the fixed waveforms found in most synths. A noise oscillator provides three types of noise.
Modulation:
Two modulation busses and an LFO provide flexible modulation capabilities.
Filter:
The filter is a classic transistor ladder filter modeled meticulously. Different drive modes are available for adding grit. The number of poles is adjustable for a wider range of filter sounds.

- VK-1 has cutting edge DSP technology:
- VK-1’s oscillators have been measured from hardware.
- VK-1’s oscillators have drift and jitter.
- VK-1’s oscillators use advanced techniques to avoid aliasing.
- VK-1’s filters are nonlinear ZDF with carefully tuned self-oscillation.
- VK-1’s envelopes have been matched to hardware.

This is probably one of my favourite synthesizers that I use. It has really warm tones that honestly are perfect for sustained and plucked basses. It can do some melodic stuff too but I find it more useful for Basses. There is that many options with it but that actually works towards its advantage and gives it a specific use in my wide range of instruments. Pretty good!

I like it. Really good Moog sounds. Yes it's monophonic only but that doesn't bother me as I have plenty of Poly plugins. It's unique and some of the settings to me are confusing, but the manual is included. It's a little odd when flipping switches and such that you have to be pretty precise. Minor complaint.
Hi, does it still wirks with the chip M1 of the macbooks? Thanks
Blessings! Did u get a response back for the M1 chip will it still work?

Decided to try this out and I had a good laugh. The sound quality is alright but c'mon man,...The knobs don't even move. It crashes my DAW when I exit.
I've had no problems running it in Cubase on windows 10, and the sounds are great. Plus, it's really easy to program.
Not only is this free, it has a pretty decent sound.

One of the best bass synths you can get!

Excellent Synth for Bass and modern styles.

One of the mellowest, warmest synths out there. Never sounds harsh. Just a really laid back, pleasant, authentic analog tone. For some reason it just doesn't rock my world though. I don't know why. Also it's one of the many synths that seems to have trouble correctly triggering the filter envelope.

Great Synth. Poderia ter uma interface mais parecida com o moog voyager e/ou minimoog, mas o som é ótimo!

This is the best free moog plugin. Great Leads !!!

This one is great. I don't have time to tweak the synth vsts I have so I can load one and just hit a few chords and notes and this one sounds awesome right away.

Best free soft synth on here, hands down. Rivals the Novation ones that came with my controller keyboard. the viking is powerful and versatile and thanks largely to the 200+ presets has a lot of the classic moog sounds in one machine.
Anyone got this VST working on a mac? I tried putting it in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST and ~/Bibliotheek/Audio/Plug-Ins/ but neither is working... I am using Reaper64 and the instrument is not showing. Restart of reaper/mac does not help... Any ideas?
Answering my own question: I guess it's because i am running Macos Catalina not OSX... Right? If there's a possibility to get working, please let me know... Thanks!
same with a friend of mine running os x catalina...it doesn't work...it doesn't show up in the reaper plugin list once installed...while the windows version does work on my windows 10 laptop...
Still doesn't work for me either and I'm on Mac
