SEGX2 is a smooth dual band expander gate.
SEGX2 operates always with soft knee which starts at the threshold point. Signal above the threshold passes thru unaltered.

- Independent release times for low and high frequency band.
- Adjustable ratio.
- Smooth, soft-knee operation.
- Uses 6dB/oct crossover filters, which are gentle for phase response. Keeps phase response fully unaltered when gate is open.
- The band link control glues the low and high band behavior together. At 100% the operation is similar to a regular wide band expander gate.
- The monitor slider allows monitoring of the detector side chain, which can be used for checking the gated out signal.
- The pre-gate option allows the gate open in advance. This control adds latency. When active, fast transients can pass thru unaltered, thus offering higher quality output.

Since 2017 I'm producing a podcast. And I started using plugins by Sonic Anomaly. And later iZotope and waves. But I want to do a Podcast A/B test. A - Using iZotope plugins RX and Waves Vocal Rider. B - Using plugins by Sonic Anomaly. (QuadraCom, Unlimited, VOLA2, TriLeveler 2) Is this SEGX2 plugin usefull for podcasting?
Very. Noise gate is a must have for vocal post-production processing. Id highly recommend SEGX. It's detection has a soft knee which makes it ideal for vocals.

Finally, a free multiband gate that actually works! I'd prefer one with more bands, but this effect does exactly what it says it does and does it well.
This is so good that not only it can be used as a regular gate for unwanted hihat bleed but you can set it so only part of the bleed gets through. Unlike regular gate fade, the bleed remains linear in volume. Brilliant plugin.

Holy sh*t this gate has so many features and can be finetuned to anyone's demand - it's just amazing. Probably the best ever gate plugin I've ever came across.

Very good noise gate, a little less sensitive than I expected, but a lot of control and perfect for honing the right gate effects.
