HBC (Hybrid Bus Compressor) is a bus compressor suite for stereo and 5.1 mixing.

HBC-5 is a 5.1 channel compatible compressor plugin. It uses both peak and RMS detection simultaneously, which produces a pleasing sound characteristics.

HBC-2 is a stereo compressor and has an additional M-S processing capability.

  • Adjustable mixture between peak & RMS detectors.
  • The RMS window size is controlled by the release time, but can be overriden by the "RMS Time" slider.
  • Smart release time control. Helps keeping the compression seamless with long release times.
  • HBC-5: SMPTE ITU/FILM switch for alternative channel order.
  • HBC-2: M-S mode compresses mid-side information instead of left-right.
  • HBC-2: Channel link adjusts the amount of compression interaction between L-R or M-S.

FINALLY. A 64bit replacement for VoS Density mkIII. Can't believe I waited so long to try it. Was put of by the "non-hardware" like gui but woo-boy this thing is awesome.

I'm using Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Reaper 64-bit, and the 64-bit VST plugin. It works for me. I don't use those other DAWs so I can't comment on those. I'd recommend contacting the plugin author using the link at the top of the page for Sonic Anomaly, and telling him of your issue.

Very impressed with this one. No matter what you do, you just can't make this sound bad. Smooth for mastering, punchy for drums...many payed comps don't get even close to this.

Excellent compressor. Very versatile, zero-latency, low CPU. If you can't get a good sound with this, you simply don't understand compressors.
