This has been the worst experience of trying to install this plugin multiple times, I have attempted 6 times to install this plugin in everyway possible including tutorials, videos, changing location, I cant get any sound from it, From videos the plugin seems great but its not user friendly at all, I gave it this rating for its use but oh well.

Totally useless. Plugin can't find its own samples in the folder it installed them in. Unable to change te path. After several attempts at installation, I gave up.

AGML works without any problems but after installing ABPL after starting DAW and turning on the plug-in there is a message that the library cannot be found. When I give the library path the problem is back.

First bass guitar vst I've found that does harmony well. It's really good.
I got the Ample Guitar M II Lite, the Bass P Lite II Guitar and the Percussion Cloudrum. The plugin loads in my DAW, but all of them say "Did not find settings file. It is abnormal. Please contact service". Any help or advice is highly appreciated.
This may help: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=245&t=434483&p=8013310#p8013310

Doesnt pop up in my instruments list in my daw.. Studio one 5 pro.. any ideas?? Will open standalone which is fairly pointless..
Probably not imported into your studio one VST library. Go to options and in the file directory.

This ABPL II thing could have a good plugin if it wasn't for: - The user interface is too small, on a 4k 32" monitor it has 1,7mm tall letters... - It craps the hell out of the anti-malware because it installs worthless fonts in the Windows folder and wants access to 'My Documents' to drop a bunch of tunes and presets. - This thing has a lot of complicated options that makes it difficult to use. - The integrated keyboard maps only qwerty which merely represents 15% of all keyboards in the world. - Did I mention the lower notes are missing? - The activationmanager.exe is not necessary for a free tool.

Very nice!!! And it's free wow
Totally useless. Plugin can't find its own samples in the folder it installed them in. After six attempts at installation, I gave up.

Thank you!

Great plugin! I am using this in waveform 11. I found if you add a Volume and Pan before the instrument, enable Assign to Velocity and set it high it adds a really nice 'twang' to the already good bass sound.

To the people complaining that the "low notes are missing", yes, but the lowest note available on this plugin is the exact same as the lowest note on a standard tuned 4 string bass
Lowest notes missing is not a problem because you can record in the low notes on this plugin and then transpose down one octave and you get the low notes missing on this vst. Problem solved.
Keep getting this comment before the installation fails: A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine. Any idea how to fix?
Im having the same problem on windows
Same but no problem after all
EL MISMO PROBLEMA
Same
Try install "all in one run times" on your pc. That's some archives from Microsoft that solve a lot of bugs like that one. It probably only works for Windows, i don't think it will solve on mac or any other OS
It's only an error for the Visual C++ program. It won't affect the actual installation and the VST should already be installed. The Visual C++ is giving an error because your computer already has a better version so there's no need to install an older version.
*lots of tech and PC repair experience*
this is usually fixed by running Windows Update if you want to waste minimal time and have a higher chance of results. you can manually download the latest C++ redist on Microsoft's site, but Win Update will usually fix that for you because it's usually an out-of-date or otherwise version as chances are you have a fairly recent C++ redist. For the average use case a Windows Update will install the necessary stuff ^^

Any advice on how to get this to work with Ableton? Can't find it anywhere online.
You got to download the 64 bit version and install it in the folder with all your other plugins

ABPL II as well as AGML II make Cakewalk (by BandLab) crash when trying to set the plugin. Any ideas? Tips? Sound is what I'm seaching for, but the plugin is "frustrating" if not working properly with all functionalities. 5 stars if it works!
(4 / 5)
A great authentic sounding bass guitar
I tried to use this plugin, however, the only problem I have is that my anti-virus program is freaking out and won't let me download and install it. Any suggestions?
Turn Off your Anti Virus Program first.
(3 / 5)
Installed in Dorico Elements. It sounds great but it thinks it's a guitar. when playing from the score (bass clef) it's low E has to entered as low E on a 6 string guitar , an octave higher than it should be.
(5 / 5)
Thanks you for this !!!
(3 / 5)
sounds nice. but can it be de tuned?
You can detune it yourself in the DAW itself. for example, in Ableton you can just go to the midi and pitchshift it
Bounce midi to a wave track and then open the wave track in something like NewTone pitch fix, drop it down manually and boom!...
(5 / 5)
freeking cool! Thanks!
(4 / 5)
OK thats epic
(5 / 5)
Amazing sound, better than the paid for VSTs in my collection. Sounds like real bass guitar.
(5 / 5)
Thanks
Süper çooook thx. :-)))
Just so you know, you do NOT get the all the articulations in the description above, you only get Sustain and Hammer On. Which is cool, it's a freebie, but just so you know!!
Anyone figured out how to tune lower? trying to get down to drop B...
Thank you all for the good words. Make sure to checkout www.amplesound.net for more FREE virtual instruments
You turn the tuning keys. ABPL is a cut down version of ABP. Regarding this Lite version you can drop to D1. The full version will go to B0 : More info here in the overview section: https://www.amplesound.net/en/pro-pd.asp?id=19
This is an amazing plugin for free, It is said to be similar to famous Fender Precision bass. Superb tone
How can I set the bass for a 5 String Bass? I need to play lower notes than E2 Help!
non-commercial license
Any way to get just the vst files I'm afraid to install this?
(4 / 5)
This bass isn't really good for being free, this bass is really good period! Ran this through a reamper and the rest was history. Between emulators and reamping (analog or otherwise), this is a good value for any studio. Now if only a 5 or 6 string version was available for free as well.
How do you downtune? it wont let me go past D!
Did you manage to figure it out?
Maybe you can just manually pitch shift it according to your needs?
Mind-blowing sound.
(5 / 5)
This is a really really good vst. I make a lot of traditional music and this is probably the most realistic electric bass you can get for free.
(5 / 5)
Great Plugin, Great sound, I use it in all my beats

Will not install because of the error "A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine."
As for me, I've tried to install win 64 vst and it doesn't work. Then I try with win 32 vst and it works BUT, during the installation process i've chosen not to install Pro Tools and stuffs that doesn't look like VST... hope it helps...
Hi JrSwizzle, on my old PC (win-XP 32-bit) with Fruityloops 7.0 i have tried to install this one with te same error.. but even while the notice was open, i was able to play and safe the Ample-bass !! But when i try to close all i had to reboot and all works fine now.. good luck -Rob- from NL

Pues ami no me da ningun problema, exelente vst
(4 / 5)
The best free bass ..BUT... Sometimes have a "bridge error" and plugin turn off!
(4 / 5)
Keeps crashing when i try to open it, when i do get it to work it delivers great sound
(5 / 5)
I ve used this plugin sooooo much it s so amazing ... I m just sad that this thing goes down only to Drop D ... But I guess nothing is perfect ... Cheers !!!
Incredible and realistic. It seems a paid free bass vst. Only miss de Linux Version. Increíble y realista. Parece un vst de paago. Solo echo de menos la versión linux.
Cant install it, says microsoft c++ is a newer version than the software needs
Had the same thing, but the vsts are still created during the installation. They are fully functional.
(5 / 5)
It s not only the thing that is the best free bass vst but it s also one of the best bass VST !!!
(5 / 5)
Funciona bien en Cakewalk By Bandlab!
(5 / 5)
If you want the best free vst for bass, don't hesitate to download this one. i like it if its ability to sound like a true base guitar. keep it up ample sound
(5 / 5)
Great for a free plugin. I use it in all my projects, even having paid plugins.
(5 / 5)
Best free bass guitar VST. You can detune the lower E to a D and add some realism with fret sound, "slapppy" sound when full velocity and some buzz. Totally worth it for rock, blues, pop and even metal if you use an amp simulator. Totally worth it!
(5 / 5)
Best bass guitar vst i have found....BASS!!
Perfeito muito bom
Very good
(5 / 5)
Yes, there may be no low notes, but the sound quality is miles ahead of other free electric bass plugins. Try detuning as much as possible, and if that is not enough, perhaps use a pitch shifter.
(5 / 5)
Lovely sounding bass. Nice tone straight out the box and the buzz controls can be tweaked to add some realism. Standard range is limited to E1 (since this is a 4 string bass after all), but can be tuned down to D1 and this is low enough for most uses. Personally don't think this VST deserves to be slammed because of the missing lowest notes, if they're needed that much then there's plenty of 5 string basses out there.
(5 / 5)
Great for a free plugin! Thank you!!
(4 / 5)
This is nor just a free download thing but, one of the best original reference of a real bass guitar. Thanks.
(4 / 5)
Great plugin, but the bender wheel is stuck ever so slightly below 0. I removed all automation and anything that might affect it. I even added automation to set it to 0 every time the track starts, but each time it starts it goes back to that little bit below and I have to put it back manually, then it goes back again if i start it again.
(2 / 5)
No low notes unfortunately... can't detune by more than 2 halftones. Sound is great nonetheless.
(5 / 5)
Hammersound, geiler bass, wunderbar und kostenfrei, daumen hoch!!!
I think its pretty awesome!
(0 / 5)
Not worth a 200Mb d/l or install - crippleware. Looks nice but bloated for what it does.
Most good instruments that use real samples are going to be at least this size, especially guitars, just look at the size of any Kontakt library.
(5 / 5)
Muito bom brother. Valeu demais pela força. Vst plugin leve, fácil e rápido de instalar.Som e timbre aut~entico e cristalino. Very, very good.
(0 / 5)
Don't bother installing this piece of crap. Useless with no bottom notes - how lame!
(5 / 5)
Amazing
(4 / 5)
Very good sound. However, high notes on the low string are not available.
(1 / 5)
Completely out of tune, worthless
(5 / 5)
Dang. This one shocked me. Actually sounds great! Fat!
Thank you, Developer!
(4 / 5)
This is great, propper job
For my window 10 it won't let me install the vst. it says there's a better version which idk why it says that, so I tried to just get the 32 bit vst and access was denied...pls help
Disable firewall and disconnect from internet and try again ??
(4 / 5)
Amazeballs!!! Sounds pretty darn real.
No lower tuning than D
Great to funk it up
Nice plugins and now is time rock the beats
How can I make the slide in/out articulation work in Cubase 5 ? Thank you.
(5 / 5)
The best free bass guitar
(0 / 5)
Worthless waste of 200 mb Trial version has no low notes. What next? A trial version of a drum kit that doesn't have a bass drum or snare or toms?
(0 / 5)
fucking bullshit the low notes don't work
Totally agree! FUCKING BULLSHIT!
Use a midi transposer free plugin , set to +12
How does the plugin help? wouldn't that give you the sound an octave higher, rather than lower?
If this had all the notes, it would rock. But, 'cos it doesn't, it therefore doesn't. Two better bass VSTs are OMB2 http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=OMB2&id=2493 and Bigcat's sampled Rickenbacker 4001 - fingered version at http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Project16_Fingered_Bass&id=2319 and picked version at http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Project16_Picked_Bass&id=2320 I use both at the same time (on two different tracks) and combine to make a great authentic classic Rick sounds - the Bigcat Rick VSTs were sampled from a real Rick 4001 bass.
(3 / 5)
If you read their website, and look at the comparison table for this item, the lower 2 octaves are missing from this free version. the most important notes on a bass guitar are missing.
This problem can be solved.
@FromRussia - How? please elaborate on how the missing notes, and which are most important notes on a bass guitar, can be solved? if you resample, it won't sound right... it will sound horrible. so if you have a plan that works, pls share.
I just love those "I know it all but I won't say shit":)
Use a Pitch Shifter to solve the octave/note issue. I recommend "Pitchproof" Set the pitch value to -12 and the detune to .200 and you will have a fully functioning Bass.
@Music Producer - Thanks! This works well.
Thank you music producer this changed the game for me in less than 5 minutes I already own a Fender Dimension Bass, but this will be alot quicker and sounds damn near identical to playing a bass live with this modification. These 2 free plugins combined is definitely worth a few hundred dollars as a paid plugin
(5 / 5)
A Must have.
Thank you! Great tool!
(5 / 5)
Excellent sound.
