Nero is a mono synthesizer for bass, lead and sequenced sounds.
Its strength is in the OSC section which features two internally synced oscillators capable of creating, thanks also to the modulation options, TB alike sounds, evolving drones fat basses and detuned lead sounds in a breeze. The filter section features a zero delay feedback filter and the audio engine has been tweaked to provide a great impact on the low frequencies.
The "Pattern Sequencer" is another key feature and a great source of inspiration for the modern producer: it features 64 original sequences that can be used as they are or, by editing the play options (play mode, length, etc), it's possible to create totally new bass/seq lines.

For some reason i absolutely love the included arp presets, they sound like classic trance melodies but darker. But the synth itself is only *fine*
Nevermind, the synth has one major strength, which is oscillator sync, it makes the presets very lively, which can make or break a synth part in a song

Very useful for ambient trance. Being an old codger, modern dance music isn't my thing but I was blown away by the clear, deep warm sounds of this synth. Maybe I should try getting into a little ambient trance now?

I like it very much, it is a powerful synth with lots of arpeggios right out of the box. The sound is awesome.
This synth is a beast, and yet, it is still very straight forward and easy to use! Programming completely different & awesome new presets is sooooo quick & easy (all you need to do is a tweak here and a tweak there, etc.). This synth has been my "GO-TO Synth" by merit of necessity. Some may hate me for saying this, but I'll pull up NI Massive and I always end up using Nero, instead! ... ease of use, less/no bloat and always the right sound!
Well, Nero may have fiddled while Rome burned, but this sweet freebie takes playing to a whole different level! An incredible offering for free! Thanks for giving this to us VST4FREE and MAXSYNTHS!!!!
