The Neo Piano mini works great. I really like it's big brother Piano One. One of the best sounding pianos out there.

Agree, the install and how the plugin works once you install it (you have to load an "ins" file) is ridiculous and tbh the sound is IMO merely OK. not worth my time even for free, there are better free pianos out there

I've wasted around an hour reading and rereading the instructions... downloading, installing, restarting. I'm tech savvy, but can't get Neo Piano to show up in the latest version of Ableton. Since other companies offer much simpler installation, and I can't even get your sounds to play, I must show my frustration with a low rating.

How do I uninstall everything that this load of rubbish has placed on my Macbook Pro? I am using logic pro x and MacOs Sierra 10.12.6
A developer that makes such a pig's ear of the installation process, gives me no faith in their programming ability.
I thoroughly agree. I have wasted hours on this crap.
What a convoluted installation process! You're never going to see one dollar from me. If i can't even get your demo product to install correctly; I'm sure not going to spend $500 for even more misery. Thiis should be EASY!
But I think the installation is very simple, just open the plug-in and load the sampling file. I complete the installation in less than 1 minute. I have seen more complex installations, such as Vinyl Guitar from Echo Sound Works, and all plug-ins from New Nation.
Ive downlaoded the file, 32 and 64 , im still having issues trying to install it. not even the gui shows up , reaper user
Will this import/work with Komplete Kontrol? It seems to recognise the file location and the plugin but doesn't appear as an instrument, or am i completely misunderstanding what this is? It works Ok with Cakewalk but I don't really want to have to open a project in the DAW just to play this Piano.
OK, you can all stop looking now. It definitely works with Komplete Kontrol once I had found the correct drop down menu, navigated to it, loaded it up and installed the ins file. sounds great.
OK. Loaded it in Logic X Pro. The plug-in shows up. Tells me to load the .ins file I select the .ins file and click "open". Nothing happens. Running Mojave. Any help appreciated. I'd love to try this thing.
Where you have downloaded the vst go there and find the .ins file and drag and drop it on the vst in your DAW.

Takes a little figuring out to properly load the INS file but once sorted the sound and realism are great, easily the best free VST piano I've found. Thanks.
I'm extremely glad I read the instruction manual before using this. You see, I'm a composer, but I'm looking for more free VSTs that I can use. However, if you read the manual it clearly states: "No part of this publication may be copied, reproduced or recorded, for any purpose, without prior written permission by Sound Magic Co. Ltd." And for good reason. I did some digging and it turns out this software is the free trial for a $299 software called "Neo Piano". So even though this software is technically free, I can't use it for my work because that would technically be recording and copying the sound this software produces.
I think they are talking about not copying, reproducing or recording the user manual, not the software itself.

I've been using this piano for all of my piano practice - out of all of the piano patches and VST sounds at my disposal, this one sounds the most like a real solo piano to me. It makes my practice sessions a pleasure!
Sounds great but sustain and sostenuto seem erratic. Using 64 bit vst and 64 bit reaper. Cc64 and cc66 turn on ok but will not always turn off! Any help much appreciated.
I can't get Reaper 6 to recognise Neo Piano, I've loaded into ever folder R6 uses for VSTi dll files...any ideas on how to fix this?

Overall, this is a serviceable piano. The decay is noticeably short on most of the pianos in the main menu, and adding reverb or tweaking other parameters didn't seem to help much. Happily this is not bad on the default patch. It's hard to distinguish some of the pianos. The home page for this plugin clearly states the samples are longer on the paid version, and the demo recordings of Neo Piano and their other commercial offerings sound good. Owing to the 16 Bit samples, some of the concert grand character is lost. There were some dropped or glitched notes on my older system and it wasn't recognizing the sustain pedal - hence the average rating. Try it - YMMV.
When I down load and run the installer for the Mac AU on my iMac, it says that it has installed, fine, but I can't find it on my Mac.. Where is it? Logic Pro can't find it, either.

Regarding the .ins file and the key required problem with Win 10 and Ableton 9, what was happening is the search would fail at the Neo_Piano "open file" window because the .ins file was not seen there and wouldn't drill down farther. It was actually one level down in the Neo_Piano folder along with the .dll file.
What I did to fix this is move the .ins file in file explorer up a level or two straight to downloads where it would be seen (if downloads is where you had the initial zip file). Then it works fine with no key required.
I downloaded this last summer and made a beat with it. I opened that beat up on FL Studio 12 to look back at the notes I arranged and the piano isn't playing. I tried to load the vst in the channel rack and it says "Something went wrong with loading the vst plugin Neo_Piano_mini. Please make sure it's installed and registered properly." I don't know what to do. It was working before and now it's not...
I have the same symptoms.
I got the file and opened the zip and the package but it wont show up in GarageBand. Plz help
Дело в том что плагины такого типа в GarageBand не загружаються. Я раньше работал там теперь в LMMS советую тоже сменить приложение
Hi there! I'm very sad, was so excited to finally get a decent piano sound available in Ableton Live, but the neo piano won't install on my iMac... Is it because it doesn't work with El Capitan?? Please... Help me....

Read instructions. Load ins file in the vst piano menu. Works great with the limitations that this free version has.

Had no trouble at all using this on Ableton. Fine Yamaha Concert Grand, very customisable, sounds ace. Thanks a lot Sound Magic

The piano makes sounds on its own (my using a mouse to click individual keys), yet when I press the midi keyboard keys, it shows the piano keys of the neo mini gui moving, yet it is mute. I have loaded the the .ins, and all that. Any ideas?
Yes, it does the same to me. Using the 32bit version on reaper... Any clue?
Maybe you have not assigned your midi keyboard to a channel
It's may not work on Windows 10?
It's working on win 10.

It don't work in Cubase Artist 7
One user says to "open the plugin file in your DAW, then load the .ins file from the plugin." There's no way to do this in Reaper. What DAWs are others using and describe the "loading .ins file from the plugin" process in detail please, someone? This sounds like a great plugin, thanks, but a lot are having trouble loading it.
When you load the VST in Reaper, and have Neo Piano GUI appear, click on the word "piano" at the top of the Neo Piano GUI (second word from left). Then click in the "Piano File" field (just to right of the words "Piano File") and this should open a file explorer window (for me, Windows Explorer window) that will allow you to choose the file "piano.ins" from wherever you have installed it - your VST folder. I could not get the 64-BIt version to work (I have 64-Bit REaper and 64-Bit Win7), but the 32-bit version worked perfectly. this piano sounds great and has a lot of features that let you tweak the sound. Hope that helped :)
Thanks for the info.
@Marcos - you are very welcome. I hope you have been able to enjoy the VST. Take some time to click on each "panel" on the VST's GUI, there are lots of features that are not "obvious" at first - like reverb, microphone position, etc.. and play around with the settings to see what sounds good to you.
Thanks !!!
I solve this problem thanks to you!!!!! Thank you so much -From South Korea
@wow genius - you are very welcome, I am so happy to hear that this helped you to get the VST working. Lots of love to you and all in south korea :)
I copied the DLL and the INS file to my usual VST folder, then chose "scan for new plugins" in Reaper. But this VSt does not show up. I have tried renaming the sub folder (Neo Piano, NeoPiano, Neo_Piano) but nothing works.
Any idea why? Reaper never fails to recognize a VST DLL so not sure what is wrong here. Thanks in advance. BTW.. using Win7 Home 64Bit and 64Bit Reaper
I figured out that for whatever reason, the 64-bit version does not work in Reaper. However, the 32-bit version works perfectly. Go figure! :) great sounding piano with lots of options in settings.
Anyone know how to make 64 bit work on Reaper? Don't want to download again huge file.. :( Thank you so much if you can help
What is the key code? I loaded the folder that piano.ins was in and now it asks for a key code. Where do I find it?
When piano.ins is loaded, the code box shows "Not required". Works well then...
I'm taking my first steps with virtual instruments. Can anyone tell me how to load the "Piano1.ins" file. I don;t know what programme to use and neither Microsoft nor Wikipedia have helped me find out.
Read the FAQ (link at the top of the page).
I can't find the faq link that you're talking about Anonymous, I have the same problem as John Presland...
http://www.vst4free.com/index.php?n=faq
The FAQ is generic and doesn't help in this case. The Piano1.ins file is an unknown file type to Windows 8, or Windows thinks .ins is an Internet Settings file used to set up dialup connections or LANs. Does anyone have actual information about this VST's installation?
Which DAW are you trying to use it in? Search for an FAQ or tutorial to find out where you should place a VST plugin, for your DAW. Once you have done that, and placed the VST in that plugin folder, open your DAW and search for the plugin. You may have to ask your DAW to refresh or rescan the plugin directory to recognize this VST. Once you find the plugin and open it in a track in your DAW, and have the Neo Piano GUI appear, click on the word "piano" at the top of the Neo Piano GUI (second word from left). Then click in the "Piano File" field (just to right of the words "Piano File") and this should open a file explorer window (for me, Windows Explorer window) that will allow you to choose the file "piano.ins" from wherever you have installed it - your VST folder. I could not get the 64-BIt version to work (I have 64-Bit REaper and 64-Bit Win7), but the 32-bit version worked perfectly in 64-Bit Reaper.

First free Piano VST which sounds decent.
How do you make the sustain work ?
How to make it work on osx and ableton live? I see midi input but there is no sound.
How do i install this? there's an .ins file. What do I do with it because it doesnt seem to be working in ableton live.
Open the plugin (.dll file) in your DAW, then load the .ins file from the plugin.
The reverb on this piano was fantastic! There is a learning curve of about 15 minutes as you play with the knobs but that is what makes this vst plugin so special. It's easy to configure!
Cannot get it working with SAVIHost, specifically selecting MIDI channel doesn't work. After selecting, it reverts back to it not being selected and does not play it.
Cant get it working in Savihost either. No sound?
