Code Red Free is inspired by a classic, all tube British console form the late 60s.
The original console was known for its EQ, bold and punchy character, and the warmth it imparted. The Beatles recorded most of their material using this, and other versions of this console. Easily recognized overdriven sound of the Beatles Revolution was created by chaining two preamps from this console.

- Accurately modeled original EQ with "Classic" and "Pop" modes.
- Additional EQ options in addition to the original EQ.
- High fidelity model of the original preamp based on the full circuit simulation.
- Automatic 4x oversampling.
- Stereo processing mode with linked as well as separate Left and Right channel EQ and controls.
- Selectable Mono processing mode for increased efficiency when processing mono signal.
- Dry-Wet mixing.

Found this plugin quite useful especially for kick and bass (mostly on kick), where you can do something similar or close to the pultec eq trick (with the only limitation of having a fix frequency), engage the bass boost (which has a 10dB low-shelf boost @80Hz) and adjust the low shelf (centered at around 500Hz) to taste, and mostly using this in conjunction with AO PREDD (and sometimes Kuassa basiQ) if i'm looking for that vintage REDD console or Abbey Road type of sound

This plug-in is bad ass on the master buss or drum buss a true preamp workhorse.

This plugin. The gain knob is gnarly. It has way more attitude than is necessary, but in the best possible way. It's often too much, but too much in a way that makes you smile and want to use it. I love it on lo-fi stuff and for really aggressive vocals. Brilliant!

Superb. A really useful plugin, awesome on transistor rhythm samples and basslines. Bought the full version, absolutely no regrets.
Very very good, channel indepent L+R * EQ
Worked briefly in Sonar, now crashes 100% of the time
Thank you so much !! I use it both in my vocals and acoustic guitar
I ran once, in Win10 Sonar, and I liked it. Since then it crashes the DAW instantly, if added to a project, every single time.
Just crashes Reaper and won't run on any other VST host for me. Using 32 bit, can't work out why.
Excellent Plugin! The treble is sweet and you can roll back the dry/wet know to blend it if needed.

This is a great plugin but for one problem. It clicks at the beginning of every render, which is a huge problem for making masters of any song.
VST3 runtime error in Reaper
Not appearing in Samplitude Pro X2. Works great in Reaper.
Won't install and work in Sonar X3. Crashes every time.
It's a pity, it seems Fxpansion Vst to RTAS is not able to wrap Code Red Free (vst2).

I tried it on a vox + acc. guitar recording. 10 minutes later I understood I was done. Clear, rich tone of both tracks required no more work. O_o Unbelievable. Shattered Glass - thank you!

Very nice emulation. I already like it more than Waves REDD.
