MJUC jr. is a variable-tube compressor.
It's a variable-mu design with lots of vibe. capable of smooth leveling but also heavy pumping effects. With its two gain stages and interstage transformer simulation it offers a very deep and lively soundstage.
The three-position timing switch not only controls the attack and release times of the unit, but also the slew rate of the transformers and the timing of the other parts of the circuitry, that are directly influencing the generated harmonics (saturation).
MJUC jr. is a mix of Mk1 and Mk2 of its big brother MJUC. It's combining very natural, dense compression characteristics of the early days of this type of compression with a more forward sounding approach and more harmonics creating of the variable-mu comps of the early 1960s.

This is an amazing compressor. Tho it has very little in way of controls, just putting this on any track will return a result, that to my ears, is the most wonderful change to the track any paid or free compressor can attain. I have got my acoustic guitars to sound rich, warm, full and clear just putting this on the signal chain with a slow release, slight - 1,2 db reduction, made up with gain. It's simply the best. The harmonics, saturation, digital circuitry is something else. Just magic. Like others have mentioned, I'm seriously going to buy the big brother version of this. Incredible.

Amazing. I used ableton drum studio for my drum sounds. It always sounds good but a little quiet and not full. I tried this at the end of my drum chain with the ableton reverb and this plugin brought my drums to LIFE! Through bringing the signal up to the red in the master and then going down till it was staying green, it has made my drums sound awesome, deep, and full. Just excellent. Can't wait to try this on my bass with the bass grinder plugin. 6 stars!

This is a very nice sounding compressor. I often use it on bass guitar and sometimes on vocals. It works very smoothly and tames the peaks to get a nice and even loudness if desired.

It was the best free Klanghelm's compressor, but when the developer updated DC1A to the v3, MJUC Jr became obsolete. Still, it's good and remains better than most of the free VST Fx on the market.

Absolutely excellent. I went on to buy the 'big brother' MJUC and it has immediately become my 'go to' compressor. But this junior size is superb too. I simply found that if this free one is so good, the bigger one (paid, 24 Euros) should be something to be reckoned with. I strongly advise buying the 'senior' version It's just about perfect.

Great, I do like it !!! En réponse à "!!!!!!!!!!", commentaire précédent: si tu ne sais pas te servir de tes DAWs ou installer des plugins correctement... on y peut rien ! Pour un plug gratuit, ce compresseur est vraiment cool et simple d'utilisation. Perso je le recommande les yeux fermés.

Excellent comp with unique character. I find the metering is not sensitive enough, it compresses quiet a bit while needle not moving yet. No attack/release settings at this free version but he's got payed one with all that if needed.

Really nice. Supermaailma HBC-2 (Hybrid bus compressor)is another great compressor, check it out, it glues all the parts together. I also like jscompshaper or jscomp (transparent) on the tracks and HBC-C on the busses, imho.

This Comp should actually be on top on the list for freebies!!! It sounds so unbelievable smooth and I love the simplicity, very easy to set up. Love it on vocals!Simply the best free analog modeled compressor plugin atm in my opinion!

I would like to point out for those who complain about the install : you can use Universal Extractor (v2.00 beta 2b or up) Once extracted, keep the folders {app} & {code_GetVST2Dir_32} (or {code_GetVST2Dir_64} for 64bit).. Delete everything else.. You will figure out when you do it ;)

I don't like installs either, it's a pain, you never know what they really install and where, some spread so much on your DD that it's shitty job to uninstall all... DLL are best when you can.... Thanks anyway.
