Nasty Looper is a drum machine / groovebox offering vast possibilities.
Nasty Looper has 16 pad cells that you may load with 16 or 24-bit .wav samples, map into your MIDI Controller for further writing on the Piano Roll of your DAW. Almost Every parameter of Nasty Looper may be mapped into a MIDI Controller control, providing yourself the possibility of perform Live and Improvised sessions very quickly.
Nasty Looper has a built in Break Sequencer up to 128 steps. Whitin 128 steps you can choose any to create a silence in the current pattern sequencing build.
The last 4 Pad cells are introduced for loops. These cells can play you any loop just by configuring the beats number. (eg: 16bars = 64 beats). Here you can also tweak start and end adj, delay, and filter stepper among other controls.
It also counts with a fancy built in Synth and a Brickwall Limiter preventing clips during Live performance and comes with a demo soundbank provided by beatassist.eu, loopmasters.com and VIPsoundlab.
The first 12 pad cells have:

Hi. this is one of The best free apps, the compose sequence feature is awsome. My question is how do you get the looper sequence midi mapped to external controller Akai APC mini this controller has lights anyway that nasty looper can use the Akai APC mini like the "Red" light that run at the bottom triggering each beat picked up by the nasty looper sequencer. Is there a midi script.Im using ableton live 9 as my D.A.W. How to get abletons piano roll to work with nasty looped. If i can get these issues worked out im good. Thx
hi..i am not sure what you want to do???!!!!...your message is confusing...contact us at info@beatassist.eu ... we might have a solution once the problem is well explained! Thank You!
Looks really cool, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make it work

I didn't use it yet, but I wanted to rate 5 stars #1, Just the accessibility/availability factor... That someone went out of their way to create something that was on mine and others' minds. #2. Based on what the 1st comment stated of 2 issues 1-being a large HD size, and 2-only WAVs but you replied with that you're updating these things. So, it is also great knowing this is literally within the past few months so it's new & you're an active person. When I can, I will donate. Get paid Mondays. :)

When I seen this VST, I really liked it, but, when I install and tested it, I seen two grand problems that was enough to I let the VST of side. 1- Only support WAV files. 2- Is only in FULL HD (The VST size is very bigger than the laptops screens). I don't wanna depreciate the VST, I just wanna say this to developers see this and fix all that, if theses 2 things would fixed, I will download it again and I will return to use it. Great VST. ;D
Hi...i am working on version 2 of the VSTi..it will be laptop screen fit OK!...well..it wont run mp3 only wav though!!!
How about support for aif sounds?
yes...version 2 will have that!!!

OI, we don't all use HD screens you know, how about a version with a smaller GUI for those of us who don't? otherwise it's next to useless
Yes I agree... next version will be smaller..anyway.. I believe that if you use more than 1024x768 will be ok!!! Yet, I agree some laptops are basic on resolution! : )
I'm using 1366x768, the highest my laptop screen allows, in FL Studio with it detatched to see above the DAWs GUI and it's still too big to see properly, and it's just as bad in Reaper aswell. If you made the gui halfway between 800x600 and 1024x768 then it would be useable
How can I use patterns B, C, and D? It seems like I can only use pattern A.
Use the up and down arrow buttons where it says "steps" or the pop up menu right at side, that shows the number of active steps selected.
Great! Now, if I want to hear only Pattern C in a loop, how is that accomplished?
You cant.. probably on next version.. sorry!
This is really great I like it much more than FL Studios FPC. It works with my AKAI MPD26 very easy to map the samples. Still figuring out how to work the rest no one has put up a tutorial yet up on YouTube.
You can find some handy tutorials at www.beatassist.eu.. You just need flash plugin installed on your browser.

A hell of a lot better than a lot of the other drum programs I've tried. Anybody know how to get this working with a program like reaper though? Specifically, how do I map the pads to the piano roll?
After mapping the pad cells to a MIDI controller, the note assinged on the controller will be the same note on the piano roll. All you need is a MIDI controller and map the pad cells.

Hi there. How do I create a loop? When I press on "start engine" only the first pad (base drum) is played. All the others are just played when I use the pattern fill mode. So except for the first pad, the other drums can only be played as a continous pattern, so every bar is just the same. E.g. I can't choose the 2nd pad to appear in every 2nd bar only. Can someone help me? Or is there any tutorial out there so I can get the basics?
On Beatassist.eu website there are video tutorials that explain how to do a step pattern. Make sure each pad is set on pattern A so each pad goes on the same bar (like all pads on the first bar). Also adjust the number of steps you want to step record.
mmmmh this is Dope

Holy shit, this thing is amazing!

Combination MPC with a TR step sequencer! I've seen the tutorial videos on their website. It looks very easy to run the program once you get the hang of it. There's no pdf manual. One question, where's the swing function? Anyway, this plugin is sweet!!! THE ULTIMATE GROOVEBOX!!!

Great machine, but a manual would be useful.

Wow lots of work put in here. I like it a lot but wish there was a manual. The vids are cool but I a dummy!

The cool thing. Waited a very long time, and something like that was free of charge. In general super plugin.
