XSRDO Patchwork Modular System is a true modular synthesizer.
You can choose what modules you want, where to put them and how many of them you want. Each module is independent of any other and only becomes active when you start to patch them together in your own creative way.

Sluggish gui and a bit heavy on cpu compared to other better options here (Sonigen modular and Kamioooka are the best true modular plugins here at this site). Also randomly got a c++ runtime error loading this one into reaper at one point. Sonically it's a bit too clinical digital for my taste. But of course run through the right saturation plugins this one could sound much better.
Agreed, stick with Sonigen and Kamioooka first, and if you get hooked on it, come back and see if this one works for you.

У кого творческих планов полно,это крутить не будет,а кто в постоянном творческом кризисе: времени, хоть отбавляй, это для них. Всё равно ничего толкового не вырулите: подобное можно найти без труда где-то ещё.
It won't load the existing patches - it keeps saying the patches were made with an earlier version and aborts loading.
Oops, my bad! I was trying to load from the wrong folder. This machine has a beautiful sound and I'd like to get to know it much better.

Amazing piece of art, its not a plugin that you want to use everytime on everytrack... its not very well optimized, since its huge, it consumes lots of memory, despite the cpu being fairly low on usage... but the infinit amounts of possibilities you get from this synth its mindblowing... this thing is one of the most cappable modular synths i ever seen.... and its free (!), incredible amount of modules, decent sound... if you are up to create really unique patches, and if you are keen to not work only with midi, and basically disable the plugin (reaper have this feature..) then this plugin will be incredibly usefull and tasty to use...
I give it 5/5... despite not being perfect, just for entertainment i get out of this..

Wow! I loaded this into Tracktion5/32 and it works perfectly. Simple install and oh my goodness, what sounds. Kirsty has really delivered the goods with the latest (1.8) version. She's created 60 modules for XSRDO. It's going to take me forever to get to grips with everything. Thank you (I think) for your hard work Kirsty.
Love this synth! Most of us couldn't afford a real modular hardware setup, but this will give us a good idea of how to use one if we ever get the money. Makes some really wonderful sounds if you spend a couple of hours playing around with it. Thanks you very much XSRDO!

Good modular synth. I found Sonigen's Modular to be a bit better in some of the modules though. Don't be confused by its GUI if you find it too simple or retro. Excellent sound/CPU load for the sounds you can create. V 1.07 worked flawlessly using Zynewave's Podium freeware for a quick test
Works fine, I have Win7+Reaper... I love it!
It worked on Mulab 6.0.35 but not anymore on last Mulab 6.1.32 : I get "invalid vst plugin".

Here is another thing to teach ya, 'patchwork' electronica, it's like looping, you open your synths in the VSThost and record what you play, there is a great WAV file recorder in this host, you just go through your synths, selecting the knobs, pieces, lfo, osc, parameters and sound bank, you just spend the day making elements of songs, like bass lines synth leads and so on, archiving all your sound wav samples. Then, when you feel you have the components of your song composed into wav files -JUST like how those loop sets you pirate off torrent (hahaha) you simply open your DAW and assign that wav file to a track and make your top chart hits... this is PATCHWORK electronica, or hip hop or whatever your genre is, this is a patchwork modular made to create patches(samples-wav files) Hence the name modular and yes it functions like a modular, not like a some synth plugin. I just dont think the maker explained this very well, but I could just say, he figured you all should already know that, you know what this is and what it is designed to do. And it does it very well.
This runs beautifully in VST HOST, the GUI is very nice. Go to the vst host section here and get Hermann Seib VSThost. I teach classes upon DAW and electronic music emgineering. It is important to note, that the VSTHOST is a modular synth. A modular synth functions like a separate instrument from a plugin. Serious electronic musicians should learn this. I have several computers in my studio, the audio is mixed through a mixer table, One computer serves as my vst host applications and the other computer is my DAW software. Midi always tends to mess up the DAW, so I record my files independent from the midi from the very start of the song, I think of what can make this song run great and NOT LOCK UP or freeze on stage. Running your your tracks out of your daw, live from tracker. BOUNCE or DROP your songs to wav or MP3, but ommit thoe synth lines you want to play live in shows, running your stage like this, you will never have dropouts, freezes... basically you run what you make in your DAW as a mp3 or wav file and when you bounce, mute out the synth lines you would like to play on stage, make notes of what you select. I know when this "DAWNS" on you. The DAW was not intended on being a stage performance instrument, it was made to record music like a REEL to REEL.

New Version 0.60 will fix the GUI issue, check the KVR forum for updates. (no I am not the developer)
Please FIX it... Seems to be a very nice machine :o)
"invalid vst plugin" in Mulab

Well, it seems that the problem is Synthedit itself. My own plug-ins can't be displayed in computers that doesn't have Synthedit installed. I'd be glad to know about how to solve this problem. I've tried to search in SE yahoogroups, but my mail was blocked (Don't know why)
It seems that is was a limitation introducted on latest betas that prevents machines that don't have SE installed to load the full GUI... http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=384135&p=5881399#p5881399

This looks like a wonderful plug-in. Unfortunately it does not work in my Reaper DAW, no GUI. Hope it can be fixed in the next version so it will work in Reaper x32.
No gui. Ableton x32.

what daw do you use? i'm not able to get a gui. tried it on ableton, reaper, samplitude and tracktion without success.
Worked fine with Nuendo/Vista, but no GUI when I tried with Cubase/XP.
