VST AU
VST Speek is a speech software synthesizer: it reads the text you type in the text field.

It emulates the Software Automatic Mouth (SAM) software for Commode 64 and can be used to get robotic voice. This plugin is responsive to MIDI notes and pitchbend. It's monophonic and velocity sensitive.

When i tried to dowload the macOS AU, it gave me a .zip. i unzipped it, and inside was a folder called VSTSpeek.component, not an actual .component file.

If you are using Windows you might have to install using enhanced privileges. ie right client run as administrator. Or if you scroll down further on the windows message you might be able override the message several times to get it to install. I’ve just downloaded the file and it isn’t an executable file. Extract the folder. Once extracted locate the file Vstpeek3.dll (I downloaded the 64 bit version). The file doesn’t indicate that it is a vst3 file so you need to locate the vst2 plugin folder in your DAW. In Cubase you need to run the vst wizard to link the file into the database. If that doesn’t work then import the the whole extracted folder into the VST2 plugin folder.

I used to use without a DAW program. I had this plugin on my desktop. I can't use it for a long time. I don't know why. And now I need it. I don't use any DAW for my music.

I don't know if you knew that, but inside the folder downloaded is the VST. Copy this VST to ¨Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST¨ and it should work. Probably you will need to use ¨VstSpeek3-x64.vst¨, not ¨VstSpeek3.vst¨.

Great! On the one hand, it´s so much fun, but on the other hand it´s a serious tool for retro stye effects. You can use it very simple by inserting a C4 midi note in your "piano roll" for starting the "speach". But there is a different way: Download and install the free tool "recorder no. 23" and make a virtual recording with "recorder no. 23" during you start "VST speak" manually.

did not do what i wanted. It would not resume the sound when you play a different note, it would start over.

I like it, but it's not set up the best. If I try to type a space, the VST doesn't respond- it just sends the space right to my DAW, playing and pausing. Backspace, additionally, does nothing, as do the arrow keys. Incredible on everything else though, I'd give it a 5/5 if it wasn't for how annoying the UI can get.

That's what the "Enable Keyboard" check box in the corner is for. It'll focus the keyboard input into the vst.

Fantastic for any chiptune song. Works like a charm and I am using DarkWave Studios (not exactly a common DAW, but I rather enjoy it). This takes my back to my Commodore 64 days!
