Cyclone is a true low-level hardware emulator of the 12-bit Yamaha TX16W sampler.
It simulates all the important circuits of the Yamaha TX16W, including the main 68000 CPU, the proprietary Yamaha DSP circuits, the 12-bit sample memory and the 400kHz non-linear DACs. Cyclone not only looks like a real TX16W, it sounds like a real TX16W and it runs the exact same software as a real TX16W.

One of the great VST plugins. Thank you!
Это относится к динозаврам. Работать с этим доставляет массу неудобств. Скачал, и... выкинул. Старьё - Ё.

Amazing sounds, very good tutorial too
If you like me are less than 30, here is a good tutorial to know how to use this Jurassic piece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPSgG4yMUug.

For all those didn't figure out how to use the discs: Use the Aeolian collection found on this thread. It loads up as a basic VST preset nothing complex: https://soniccharge.com/forum/topic/431-cyclone-faq?page=all . One thing I noticed when I used multiple instances of this VST in a project, is that it stacks up a static noise when it's not used. I guess you can use a noise gate on it, but thought I'd mention that.

I like the sound but it's difficult to use as A sampler – it works exactly like the hardware and this is not good. Also, the GUI is too small to edit samples if you manage to figure out how to route audio from a track into this plugin.
Practically, it acts like a rompler mainly since there are many disk images with samples for the original Typhoon.
Yeah, it feels more like a novelty than an everyday sampler, which I'm okay with tbh.

Not for musicians.
Not for noob musicians, at least.
Yo bro chill don't get on him so hard
I'm totally with Rin on this matter. It's actually easy thing and if you call your self musician and you at site with vsts you definitely should understand how samplers and hardware emulations work.

Complete garbage and a waste of time. It won't load anything. let alone play anything. No manual either.
Maybe your just too noob to figure it out? It's NOT garbage. IT"S COOL ASF!
Click the drive to select an .img file. (This does not load anything. It just inserts the virtual disk into the virtual drive.) [System Setup] [Utility] [7] or [+1] until you get to [Load *] [>] to [Go] and [Enter] Wait and follow any instructions on the display. Click [Performance Select], [Voice Edit] or [Wave Edit] and [+1]/[-1] to browse the sounds.

Awesome plugin. This rids me of the need to hunt for Korg M1 samples, because this thing pretty much has it all. :D

Amazing plugin. Found some sounds I've been looking for a long time. The essence of the 80/90s ;)
Where can I get free sound presets ?
You can find info about sounds in the FAQ. Here's a link to the forum: https://soniccharge.com/forum/topic/432
This is amazing! I own some aged samplers like Roland S-550 (12 bits) and S-760 (16 bit 48 KHz) and always aimed my eyes over the TX16W but never up decided. Now I will to spray my vanilla air-ambient in my studio and play with low-digital boundaries! THANKS!

Cool "vintage" tool, i use this sampler in combination with my other hardware synths and it works/sounds very well. Btw. my first experience with Yamaha-like synths, so i have to learn first how this "damn thing" works...LOL! But after a short time of study, the results are very promising and i will definitely integrate this sampler in my soundset! Thx a lot for this wonderful tool ;-))
Exact recration of the TX16W with the Typhoon OS (instead of the weird original Yamaha OS). Not for everyone cause it really acts like the hardware so it doesn't benefit from being software. For people who love the hardware and want to use their TX16W sounds in the PC this is perfect.

What a nostalgia trip. Love the effort that has gone into recreating this!
thanks! Please create a new sampler for windows to read a exs24 extension! All the best

Didn't understand a shit, there's a lot of more easy to use samplers out there!
Interesting plug-in, lets hope it easier than the hardware.
