Thrillseeker XTC is a contemporary exciter build around a true parallel analog style equalizer design.
ThrillseekerXTC is all about adding weight, vibe and attitude back to the sound. It delivers all the character of an analog signal path and provides what digital processing usually is hard pushed to, including a rich low-end experience and that vibrant 'expensive' top-end.
A unique take on a parallel analog equalizer design which includes full control about sonic color and mojo. Transient based processing to revive energy and vibe. Made for musicians and engineers to pleasingly enhance audio during the mixing or mastering stage.

- Three parallel coupled equalizers containing three stateful saturators.
- Each based on a sophisticated non-linear and frequency dependent algorithm with memory.
- Pre-selected frequency ranges.
- LOW band: 70-450Hz.
- MID band: 0.8-5kHz.
- AIR band: 3.2-18kHz.
- Two flavors included with different internal gain-staging.
- Black version to mix at rather conservative levels around -18dB RMS.
- Blue version to mix towards hotter target levels.
- Additional analog signal path idiosyncrasies modelled.
- Classic VU style metering as well as loudness unit measurements based on ITU-R BS.1770.
- Mix control for dry/wet mixing and output level control.

I use MK3 64 bit. The skin is blue except the drive/mojo section witch is black and doesn't do anything that I can actually hear.

This has been sitting in my plugins folder for a few years and I never really bothered to use it much. Just loaded it up while I was null-testing some other plugins, and while this plugin may not null (which the author is 100% upfront about and why - major props), the character it imparts on any program material coming in is to die for. Even just running audio through it, no twisting knobs, it sounds great.

One of the best plugins you will ever use.

I'd pay money for this plugin. Excellent on the master chain for brightening muddy metal mixes and improving harmonics in the mid-range frequencies.

Hello. Let's see if someone solves a doubt for me: what exactly does this complement do? If I apply gain to any of the three bands, am I exciting or am I just equalizing? Does this have to do with whether the drive is activated or not? In the drive: what does it do in the zero? what does it do in negative values? and in the positives? Thank you. By the way: the mojo is spectacular. Magnificent.
Low eq when activated even in 0 position will apply a low cut 30hz< and a low boost of 1db at 50hz (in 70hz knob position). If you push the gain, you are indeed exciting, not only boosting (and this boost is not exactly at the freq the knob says it is, 70hz knob = 50hz boost, 100knob=70boost, 200=90). Mid eq/comp when activated does nothing to eq spectrum without any gain but are exciting (at 0), this harmonic content is increased when you push the gain. High eq when activated does nothing and when you push the gain it only boosts high freq, it is a pure eq, not an exciter. Eq/exciter part works independently of the drive/mojo part. Drive activated at 0 will apply also a low cut 30hz< and generate harmonics, it will generate more harmonics as you push the knob, and also do a gentle eq bump in the low end while reducing everything above 100hz, kind of rebalancing eq here together with saturation. Mojo does nothing at 0 and when pushed just add more harmonics, no change in the frequency spectrum, it just makes the curve a little weird but do not change its format. Did this analysis with plugin doctor, hope this helps.
Thank you. I have present.

Put this on your master bus. Just trust me. I'm not kidding. Do it!

This plugin has thaught me two things: 1- compressing only the midrange of the whole mix is an excellent idea. 2- exciters are not a thing of the past, but are very useful tools. What's also important is that Bootsy takes good care about aliasing and his plugins are excellent in this regard. Top stuff!

Very good but be carefull with the mojo knob. It introduces weird flanging

Absolutely great! Recommend it!

Nothing else i've tried sounds as organic and natural as this for boosting.
I would happily pay over 50 dollars for this.

This is really good at saving guitar tones : I used it on rhythm guitars on a death metal mix, worked great. Can be interesting on a drum bus, or even on the master stereo bus !

This should work magic with cheap cond. studio mic/voice recording session... esp with mojo... etc. As we all know vos = top quality!
