Firebird uses a unique synthesis architecture to deliver next-generation sounds.
Its innovative user interface provides you with the tools to create impressive sounds with a minimal amount of effort. Featuring an impressive selection of 437 build-in sounds, representing both highly sought-after VA sounds, as well as sounds more specific to Firebird and characterized by its Harmonic Content Morphing synthesis, breathing both life and dynamics into the sounds.
Harmonic Content Morphing synthesis is based on a large, expandable repertoire of standard waves, like saw, pulse, as well as more complex wave material, like multi-waves, trumpets, organs, pads, pianos and voice samples. These waves are modified in real-time, by for example transposing the wave by one or two octaves and adding it to the original wave, altering its harmonic structure, syncing, compressing or even expanding the frequency domain of the spectrum. Making the wave for example sound more fat using only one oscillator, transforming each wave into a hyper-wave or selecting some cycles of a sample and moving through them over time (comparable to wavetable synthesis). Any modification of a wave can be modulated producing lively shimmery sounds (remember: using only one oscillator!) With a total of more than 18,000 different spectra available for combination and modulation, Firebird+ gives an almost unlimited amount of timbres to experiment with.

First 64bit soundset for Firebird - Fatbird Pro (prototype yet) released today: 5 soundbanks with interesting sounds here : https://vellislav.wixsite.com/vellislav/presets
Best stuff from my Firebird preset collection was remade / upgrade with Warlock in upcoming Club Nights soundset,c heck my site. Cheers:)

This is my go-to guy whenever I need a synth-sound. I adore it! I love he way it produces a playable sound every time you press the random-button (too many synths just go silent 9 times out of 10). The speed at which this guy let me find the right sound is amazing (and yes, very often the "right" sound is one I never would have thought of).
Great power comes in small packages!

Available over 4000 free presets for Firebird on my site: https://velltone.wixsite.com/velltone/velltone
I'm sorry, cannot review this synth because I don't have it but I have the similar FilterBank3 that I purchased, the main difference is the latter doesn't have a "real" amplitude envelope but a step sequencer. Used magazineware Bifilter also which was a cutdown version of FilterBank VST (ie. no synth version). I'm surprised the link to acquire Firebird doesn't direct to Tone2 site, considering how much I could have been bugged while using FB3 LOL. I was able to learn from the developer how disgusting VST3 really has been, for the companies trying to sell plug-ins and for those creating freeware, as well as for the users of that software.

One of the best I've found on the site

I've made over 4000 preset for it when was baby sound designer - Fatbird sound pack will be available for free soon on my site.
This is no longer free. Clicked on the link. The vst's there within have restrictions on them.
Firebird is not available on Tone2's website. This one is still free.
I downloaded the vst from the link provided, above. Once installed, the Vsts's had restrictions on them.
During the install you have an option to install only Firebird, the other one is a demo, but Firebird is free and works without limitations.
How do you remove the other 2 vsts's ( dll's etc) that have to be installed on your system, to get Firebird?
Find them in your vst folder and delete them.
Thanks!

Some Vsts are indispensable to make music: this is one of them. I use it very often because it's very easy to use (great for beginners) and has an intuitive GUI. You can make just about any possible sound with it and it has a great arpeggiator. Definitely a must have!

Amazing modern-sounding supersaws with this one!
Before trying this even just want to state you should first cut a separate folder before hitting the .exe as it will set the folder it is installed to to strip admin approval. Youre going along installing vst dlls and every one requires admin conf before this, then after this every one just slides in. Had me hitting return unnecessarily. No big deal, actually if you installed it first to the main vst directory you would save a lot of carriage return admin aproval clicks.

Shockingly good ... and runs really well on Linux, using Carla or LMMS' vestige.

Amazing, good sound.
This is god tier. Get it, play around with the harmonic morphing content, and make some awesome sounds. It's like a normal subtractive synth on acid.
