Works fine in Studio One 6; sometimes I get load errors, but they get resolved when I load it again. Old but gold plugin. Not an expert on guitars but I like the sound and the parameters. Emulating guitars and I didn't have to spend a ton of money for it. Awesome. Works perfectly with BlueCatAudio's free Amp.
Somebody here tried to start fixing it: https://github.com/SwooshyCueb/Revitar2

If you read old articles from around 2010, about when the creator of it released it for free, apparently it was first created in 2004, they say that he also released the source code. The link is no longer up, but if somebody had that they could clean up whatever is crashing about it and re-release it.
Great guitars.

I used Revitar 2 a lot some years ago and really loved it. But now I can only work one instance in FL, if I open an extra the first one looses its sound :( And if I save a Project it crashes my DAW when I open it again!!

I confirm cakewalk 2022.09 (build 027, 64 bit) crashes when accessing this plugin. Crash code c0000005 while accessing Revitar 2.17.dll
I do think this is a good plugin, but I'll never know that for sure since it cause one of my main DAWs (Cakewalk by BandLab) to crash immediately.
Weird... it works for me (also Cakewalk).

Great sounding and simple!

This thing in wonderful! Lots of good sound for the compact size. The chords are especially inspiring. And string bends!

Sounds very synthetic trying to clone a guitar, but its not unlike a guitar, and sounds very original. You can get pretty crazy with effects to make your own unique instrument.
This is really nice. Makes a great sound without any effort.
Sounds and looks amazing shame it isn't available on mac

GENIAL

This one made me lost for words.
Its a decent guitar sound over about 2 octaves, outside of that it either very distorted low end or just out of the park on high notes. Also it doesnt retain the settings when you close the project and you have to re jig everything every time you open.

Les gars du lourd. J'aime ce VSt. Le son est puissant et distinct.

this works about half the time, the other half it refuses to load or operate. it's pretty decent tho
same for me
Ample Guitar is more realistic, but this is pretty good too. Nice reverb.
I'd use it if I couldn't play real guitar

This thing is amazing. So many options to modify the sound too, and very useful presets. Run it through Guitar Rig and Woh !!!!
I want mine to sound just like the one in the video preview.. how do i do that ?
I'd love to have experimented more with it, but it crashes DAW. Very unstable.

Sound awesome! thanks!

Thanks for this excellent VSTi module. This enabled me a kind of professional sound without having to go and find an actual guitar. The feedback feature is convincing and has to be handled carefully too.

This is absolutely brilliant. You can get some beautiful sounds out of this. Easily the best-sounding guitar VST out there. And great fun to mess around with too.

The best free one out there. Thanks a lot !

Works well for arpeggio guitar picking!

It's surprisingly good when used with distortion, sounds great as a distortion guitar. However, there's one quite annoying issue: frequently, the plugin fails to initialize. Sometimes I have to open my projects dozens of times until I get it right, if I'm using the plugin in multiple slots. If it wasn't for that, I'd rate it 5 stars.
I had the same issue, using the 32 bit version seems to be more consistent.
I Love. It so good. Thanks

don't work in 64 bit

Guitar player decades here. Still not realistic, but competes with expensive sampled version as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure I could mask the lack of humanity under distortion or only using single shots etc. Quality is way above what I would expect for a free vst.
Actually, with a bunch of nice guitar amps, FX, Drives, cabinets etc, it's possible to get some really bluffing sounds out of this.

BTW revitar 2, since the source code and vst was released as open source. Somebody updated it, but the website is gone. There was also additional banks made

Does anybody still have the 64 bit version of this plugin?
Same to me. Don't want to use j-bridge or something else any more. too mouch trouble. Is there a 64 Bt version of the plugin ?
This is a nice one, realy easy to use. Check it out

I've used this quite a bit & it is truly amazing. Great to double with a mellotron or sax. I'll give you a trick: Play it with arpeggios on & use the 'Backman' time-reverse plug-in (here on vst4free). Get your timing tight, and you'll have arpeggios playing backwards, just after Revitar plays them.
The BOMB!!! I'm a pro guitarist, 40+ years. Gotta gig where I have to play a piano sound AND a guitar sound on keyboard, at the same time! The left hand is doing something completely different than the right hand. Yes, I can and have actually played keys and guitar at the same time, 'hammering,' but I don't need to! Although the 'guitar' sound is supposed to be like a Strat 'chink,' I can get it with Revitar and a tiny bit of tweaks, because it most closely articulates the correct timbre! Well Done!

In my opinion, this has got to be one of the BEST free Guitar vsti I've ever worked with. Whoever worked out the sound matrix on this KNOWS thier way around a guitar, no question. You DEFINITELY got a winner with THIS one!

It's a great plugin especially when accompanied with.
Bell vst, gracie mille.
Revitar 2 the best no sample guitar, see the tropical chill out guitar solo in the demo video.

2 out of 5 stars. The thing is brilliant but it takes up too much proccessor on my old machine. Tbh thats my 1 and only problem (coming from a place of bitterness)
If you have an old machine, it's hardly the plugin to blame for, right?
True. And I'm not even blaming it. Turns out it was my power settings on the laptop. Power saving mode cuts down on cpu in a major way. Once I realised this I came back and got it- works great. 5 stars for real!!

With good amp sim this sounds very good as an electric guitar. This is very, very easy to use compared to some others guitar VSTs. Plays standard MIDI files well.

This is probably THE best guitar syntesizer you will find anywhere, at least for free. The only reason I'm not giving it a full five, is that I would like a couple more options, i.e. the sound of a double stringed instrument (mandola, Irish bouzouki, 12-string guitar etc.) to add some ethnic slavour. This only has common single-stringed guitars, but it's still great for adding an acoustic touch to your music.

Works excellent! Underrated inst. Thnx to programmers!
I'm loving this free vst, special thanks to CuteMusic.....

Bons sons mais réglages un peu légers.

One time I showed a song to a friend and I asked her if she can hear the guitar sound and she said "what sound, where is it". The sound is very unrealistic almost a little too sharp like a tooth is strumming the strings or something. Despite this, it is miles ahead of anything else on the freeware scene and if you add an amp in it can sound great and there are a variety of presets. Some problems are, I haven't found a way to quickly change the chord type via mapping outside of physically going on the synth and clicking on a drop down list while performing and it's a little resource hungry too. Beats spicy guitar if you ask me.
My condolences to your friend; she must be deaf.
Precisely what you mention last is why this plugin doesn't come close to Spicy Guitar. Sure, the sound is pretty nice, and I like the wider range of strums you can achive vs. Spicy, but the fact that you are STUCK with whichever chord for your mix makes it borderline useless. Maybe good for finger play, but for strumming, pointless; which is what it's better for theoretically. Sadly the manufacturer seems to have vanished, so we'll probably never get an actually useful version of this plugin. :/
