Orchestral Strings One was recorded utilizing the legendary acoustics in the famous Berliner Hall - home of the world class BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER. Our full string orchestra contains 14 violins, 10 Violas, 8 Cellos and 6 Double Basses.
The NEO Hybrid Modeling Engine offers you the best from both the sampling and modeling worlds. The Authentic Sound of Sampling combined with the Playability of Modeling makes for a string experience that you have to try to believe! No steep hardware requirements here. Orchestral Strings One takes up less than 200MB of disk space and doesn't overly tax your CPU. The NEO Hybrid Modeling Engine gives you absolute control over every aspect of each string - you can even design your own string! There are nearly 20 controls waiting for you to tweak! Some of you (you know who you are!) just HAVE to dial up the legato and velocity, fiddle with the dynamic response, and play with those timbre differences.
Unlike static samples, modeling technology really brings the Orchestral Strings One to life. And more importantly, Orchestral Strings One focuses on the continuous flow of melody, not on just a single note. For example, you can progressively transform a sustained note by first adding slow vibrato, then medium vibrato and finally fast vibrato. While doing this, you can also use the expression controller to change from crescendo to decrescendo. This sort of control is just about impossible to achieve with sampled strings.
Orchestral Strings One is very easy to use. You can play with all the parameters on the fly with a MIDI keyboard using key switches and controllers. A keyboard player can easily and freely play our Orchestral Strings One without any difficulty. It's perfect for a live performance!

This isn't a mono plugin is it? I can only get it to play one note out of the notes in my chords.

No, just no. This is just not it for string ensembles. The tone has strange woodwind-likeness. I don't know what the hybrid aspect is supposed to be because it sounds like the same note played over and over like in any sampled instrument without round robins. I admire the idea but the end result sounds like they just couldn't make it sound right no matter what but ended up releasing it anyway. It's not easy to realistically model something like string ensembles. If it was, you'd see a lot more tries at it. This is inferior to those vintage Arp Solina and Logan string machines because they make musically useful and beautiful sounds in their own right even if they are not realistic.
Try reinstall the plugins and restart your computer

Clicks at the start of every sound and can't be rid of it or it could have had SOME use cases

This was probably worthwhile "back in the day" but it hasn't aged well... there are freebies out there much better

Terrible, sounds like crap, you have to wait 2 seconds for the next note to be even audible
Very good, thank you!
This sound amazing. I love how it sounds, especially the Pizzicato setting. I have yet to find a free plugin that does it better. You know what would be great? If I could fuckign export the Pizzicato.
Tried Sonatina Orchestra?

The bass sounds really wonderful, best string bass synth I've found yet. Upper registers not so much. I'm sure that can be improved with the large number of parameters available, but I don't really understand how they work and the manual isn't much help.

You have to add this in your vst directory of plugins and it works !!!
Thanks for the help

Works in Reaper 5.79, effectively gives you that kinda bland background strings sound you get in MOR music (James Last, bad country, etc). Plenty of tweaks but only does that one thing. Not too CPU heavy but not light either.

Is anyone else not able to save or export it without it resetting to the default settings? I like the pizzicato sound but when I export the file or reload the project it's back to the default one.
Same story here, I just finished working on a track and then when I tried to export it the same thing happened, I have no idea how to fix it.(I'm using fl studio btw)
yep, won't export the pizzicato setting. but I like the sounds
If you are using fl and want to export the pizzicato or the staccato, you'll need to record the staccato or pizzicato arrangement in Edison or into the playlist.. there's no other way to do this!
Tu peux m'expliquer comment on fait pour enregistrer l'effet pizzicato, ou spic ou staccato dans la playlist ou dans Edison s'il te plaît ?
I want to use it but my system is 64bit. Will it work anyway? I don't want to break anything
If your DAW has no onboard bridge, you can try this one: https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge/
Good stuff here! Just gotta know what you're doing when you mix it. ;)

This is horrible, do not waste your time downloading this.
Bruh, I just started using them, you must suck entirely. No sound is perfect raw. You need to EQ, compress, and filter it. As well as separate and pan the stereo.
Poor strings :-(

Garbage no explanation as to why the sound either fades out consistantly or sounds like a trachcan.
Ogni cosa sta bene nel posto giusto, anche questa per me è ottima nella sua sfera, E e poi una CPU cosi bassa nel contesto non credo sia facile trovarla.

nothing to shout about
Nothing happened in REAPER. Nothing.
I must be missing something. This one sounds way to simple to be orchestral strings. Maybe my 64 bit system and Jbridge doesn't work properly with this VSTi. It uses a LOT of CPU but produce very little in orchestral strings sound ways. :P - It actually sounds like an old style analog synthesizer if anything, but not multilayerd strings if that was the intention.
