NRR-1 is a digital emulation of a 3 channels tube preamplifier for guitar.

It has been developed to accurately model its real hardware counterpart, built for Fleshgod Apocalypse guitarist Cristiano Trionfera by Ignite Amps, back in 2009.  The NRR-1 core circuit is mainly based on a famous boutique preamplifier made in '88, modded to suit Cristiano's needs in the best possible way.
  • Dynamic 12AX7 / ECC83 coupled triode stages analog modeling.
  • Three channels: clean, rhythm and lead, each with fully separated controls.
  • Mono / Stereo processing support.
  • Selectable oversampling rate (up to 8x).
  • Global input / output level controls.
  • Double precision (64 bit) floating point mathematical model.
  • Fully automatable controls.

Ideal with any boost or overdrive pedal (real or virtual) used beforehand to hit the preamp harder which really can tighten up any good high-gain amplifier both real and virtual. A quality option to have when after that grindy yet refined Soldano high-gain distortion but with a more meaty low-mid and low-frequency response all whilst remaining and tracking very tight and precisely in my case through Two-Notes TORPEDO using either the KT88 (in place of the regular Soldano SLO & Hot-Rod packing EL34 power amp sections for additional headroom) or the 6L6 aping class AB all-valve power amp options. Equally fine results running it out of the box into a TORPEDO C.A.B. and a Mooer RADAR, 5881 based option also sounds good especially for a rhythm sound with a slightly more scooped out mid-range than the EL34, KT88 and 6L6 offer, this combination is perfectly complemented when paired with a cab loaded with Celestion G12 T75 model speaker or a suitable captured single or collection set of impulse responses using the Celestion G12-T75 model, the KT88 work great with Celestions G12K 100 and/or SeventyEight speaker models as well as the utterly monstrous Electro-Voice EVM12L Black Label 300 watt@8 OHM model speaker, again if you have a cabinet loaded with them or a suitable collection of impulse responses of them, for lead work the EL34 based power amp with a cab packing Celestion Vintage 30 speaker model or once again a collection of impulse responses of the same is an ideal starting point. Just never be shy on trying as many combinations of boost/drive, preamp, power amp and mic'd speaker cabinet until you find one or more core starting points that are/is as close to the sound you are needing/wanting for whatever task, as getting your sound as optimal as possible at the source makes life so much easier for your own sake.

Great nu metal tones. I use their convoluted speaker plug in too.

Try to boost this with TS808 plugin and some nice IRs, like the Messiah ones. Beast sound.
